On the way to Dartmoor we diverted to Topsham to have lunch in this delightful restaurant.
It was a very good experience. Local produce but very French cookery which was generous with the cream . The sauces were lovely, good reductions ...all very French there too.
The portions were more than adequate...a nice change from some lunch menus!
Very friendly relaxed service and very decent wine.

I recently had dinner here and would recommend it to anyone who appreciates good French cuisine matched with an impressive wine list & excellent service. With prices (from memory) ranging from roughly £30 - £40 per head (excluding wine) & depending on whether you have two or three courses It’s not the cheapest meal you will have, but worth every penny. I will definitely go back when I'm next in the area.

This isn't just the best in the west, this is one of the best in the country!!! Have eaten all over the world and at some of the best restaurants with more Michelin stars than you can shake a stick at. La Petite Maison doesnt just compete but also knocks spots off some of them.

Superb service, superb menu, great wine list - 10 out of 10.

We were a large party, celebrating a birthday. We were made very welcome and the food was excellent. The crab risotto was worth every calorie! (I am on a diet) Ditto the pork with the crackling and black pudding. We all felt relaxed and the staff were charming. Wines are averagely priced. I liked the fact that there was no music to speak of, or very low, and a lovely buzz of conversation. The table was nicely laid for the party. We had to choose our meals in advance as there were a lot of us, but it made the evening run smoothly.
Thoroughly recommend.
