“Excellent lunch”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

This was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last. We went for lunch in the conservatory. All the tables were taken so its a very popular place with good reason. The food was excellent, I started with wild mushroom soup followed by a steak open sandwich. I requested rare steak and it was done perfectly. The vegetable crisps that came with it were superb. Can't wait to return.

“Birthday Lunch with Sandy”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

Have just had an exquisite lunch in the glass atrium in the Salutation. An extremely popular choice given that every table was full. Service was warm and attentive( Kevin you were great thank you). I had three courses ( I'm a pushover for a pudding), my wife Sandy only had the two but had the most delicious Exmouth Mussels (put Brugge to shame).Every course was wonderful, rich and flavoursome. The most surprising thing in this whole experience was the price, the food was clearly fine dining yet the price did not reflect this.
We were so pleased with lunch at the Glasshouse we will now be booking the 5 course tasting menu in the restaurant in the next couple of weeks. Thank you Salutation for a wonderful experience.

“Super lunch in glass atrium”
Reviewed 1 November 2013

Most reviews mention the main restaurant, which I am sure seems wonderful. We had a very quick lunch in the glass atrium and could not fault anything. Service, value, atmosphere, food - all fab. Lunches around 7.95, top quality, something a bit different. Moules were lush, Caesar salad tasty. Shame we did not have time for the desserts - looked amazing on display in the fridge.

“Pleasant”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

Not a huge area, but light and friendly. We had lunch (listed as 'light lunches' and they weren't huge, but lovely nevertheless). Not a cheap lunch, however we were happy paying what we did - and it was to celebrate the old man's birthday!

“A real afternoon treat”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

Afternoon tea at the Salutation is a real treat, today it was fingers sandwiches of egg mayonnaise and then local crayfish, followed by one of the best scones I have ever eaten served with wonderful cream and jam and to finish a delicious cake. On top of that first class coffee, you really could not ask for better.
Easy access for wheelchair users, great service by very cheerful staff
