Description: The Globe has an extensive menu accompanied by daily changing specials. Where possible all ingredients are grown, reared or caught locally. All dishes are carefully prepared by our team of accomplished chefs led by our Head Chef, Richard Jenkins. The food successfully combines the classic with the modern and will not disappoint. The cooking is classy yet simple, perfect for a special meal or relaxing lunch. The Elizabethan Restaurant provides the perfect place for dining throughout the day from hearty breakfasts to elegant candle-lit dinners. The Bar area is traditionally decorated with rich textures and colours, you can sit back, relax and enjoy freshly prepared dishes, speciality coffees, fine wine and award winning St Austell Brewery Ales. We serve food throughout the day until 10pm, but please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

“Good but pricey!”
Reviewed 2 December 2013 via mobile

Went as a couple for lunch. Good food and efficient service. Food prices are on par with London but tasty and well presented. Over use of melted butter on the grilled whole plaice took it from a healthy option to a unhealthy dish.

“Another excellent meal”
Reviewed 13 November 2013

Returned to Topsham today, after our first visit in June, and headed straight to The Globe as we were so impressed with it last time. Arrived about 11.30am on a very cold day, and sat in front of a roaring fire in the bar for morning coffee, which was very good, and whilst we were there reserved a table for lunch. We returned for lunch at 1pm, and found our reserved table at the same place in front of the fire. As it was so good last time I ordered ham, double egg and chips, and my wife had fish and chips. Both meals were excellent, and my wife said the tartar sauce was 'wonderful'. To drink I had a very nice pint of Proper Job (first out of a new barrel) and my wife had a half of San Miguel. Total cost a very reasonable £24.90. Once again the service was friendly and efficient, and the toilets were spotless. We will return yet again. I just wish this place was nearer to where we live.

“First rate town pub grub”
Reviewed 30 October 2013 via mobile

A rather nice, smart and good quality town bar and restaurant. Well frequented by locals and tourists alike. The bar menu is good, the fresh bread and local crab platter particularly so. Friendly and warm, with good bar service. Had a very nice relaxing lunch and will go again

“slow service”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

visited the globe inn on our recent trip to area with friends and found the place very attractive and still with a traditional feel which is nice to have in this gastro age we live in. However unfortunately the service was very slow and not very proactive as we had to ask for everything. The food is good but the portions are very small for the price you pay and we were left feeling hungry.
