We stayed at Weeke Barton for one night on our way to Cornwall. First impressions were great- stunning old Longhouse set upon gorgeous grounds with a stylish interior to match. You can tell a lot of time, effort and money has been spent on the renovations and decor.

Unlike a lot of B&Bs that we have stayed in, there were lots of communal areas to relax in- a cosy living room with wood burning stove, a small honesty bar and a dining area.

We chose to have dinner there and the food was fantastic, as was the breakfast. Perfect portion sizes!

Sam and Jo were great hosts- nothing seemed too much trouble and it was interesting chatting to them.

Overall, a great place to stay- we will be back for sure!

I have not stayed in many b&b's but if they are all as beautiful, luxurious and friendly as weeke Barton ill be doing it more often! Sam and Jo made us feel very welcome, breakfasts were good and we had dinner one night which was lovely. Gorgeous gardens with areas to sit out and relax as well as ample living space with open fires and access to alcohol and soft drinks when required. Good knowledge of the area so able to advise on where to go etc. Highly recommended.

Jo and Sam have created a perfect country retreat which totally redefines "bed and breakfast". Within minutes of our arrival on a bank holiday Friday evening after a long drive from London we were totally relaxed, having been made to feel so at home by Jo and Sam's hospitality. With a fabulous collection of Art, some great Books, some really well chosen Furniture and a splash of retro chic here and there, the cottage is styled beautifully. After a good local ale from the very civilised 'honesty bar' in front of the log fire, it was off to bed for one of those perfect nights sleeps you wish you could have every night of the year. Breakfast the next day was simply faultless....granola to die for, and a 'proper' English breakfast, all locally sourced, with home made bread, and bottles of the freshest locally pressed apple juice, set us up for the day.....which mainly consisted of us sitting in the garden in the warm sunshine, reading the weekend papers and books whilst our daughters played with Coco (Jo and Sam's impeccably behaved spaniel). Time is very precious - a weekend at Jo and Sam's cottage is definitely time well spent, and we are all looking forward to visiting again to unwind and enjoy a good honest English countryside bed and breakfast the way it should be. Thank you.
