“Recession Hit Hotel and shows”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

We booked four rooms and transfers pre cruise as we had flights from Amsterdam to Treviso, and having stayed in Venice several times we wanted to avoid the tourist hustle and bustle...

We arrived and where greeted by a large scruffy man who was sub contracted to provide transfers on behalf off the Best Western Premier BHR as they no longer have their own courtesy bus (driver informed us that it was to expensive to upkeep) We had 7 people and lots of luggage and this was all detailed in the email pre arrival and confirmed via the hotel that a vehicle would be large enough to accommodate both passengers and the luggage. The Driver (Eride Rent Car - www.cab-service.it) said that it was too much luggage and proceeded to tell us that we had not booked this much, i had to show him the confirmation email written by the hotel confirming all the passengers and the details of all luggage. He decided that two trips would have to be made, He also said the same would apply tomorrow for our transfer and the cost increased from Euro 90 to 165, also he needed to change the time as he had another job on! he said also if we paid him in cash and not the hotel we would save 15% as no tax!!! Just all seemed too unprofessional and under the counter for a 4 Star Hotel Transfer Service!

Thirty minutes later we where all in the hotel lobby, Fillippe, the guy handling the check-in was already with 5 guests and another one was waiting before we could check in, so we waited another 50 minutes to check in, he was doing his best but as only one person we knew we would have to wait longer (not an issue as he was going as fast as he could) But twice the manager from the office behind the reception walked by us all waiting and never offered to assist... This is not acceptable, and a severe staff shortage need to be addressed! Once checked in we hauled up all the luggage as no porters at the hotel and no assistance could be offered as poor Fillippe was still alone! he apologised for the delay and lack of porter

Rooms where great size and good quality fittings but sadly lacking in good housekeeping, dusty, and need more attention to detail. Great beds and very comfortable with excellent shower and free WIFI

Dinner we had on the Terrace outside the main bar area, food was excellent and service by the three staff also very good, the head waiter was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, excelling in customer service.

Breakfast the next morning sadly is why I have reduced the scored it three, It was very understaffed, three girls to replenish food, get Orange juice from kitchen as Machine Broken, Clean Tables, Serve Hot Drinks as one small machine to provide all hot drinks for entire restaurant, set up and deliver room service trays etc etc

So breakfast was very slow and we had to clear our own table before we could sit down.... again this is not a criticism of the staff, they all worked very hard to provide a service but there was no visible management and it is there responsibility to provide guest with a service we paid for!

We checked out and arranged another transfer (Venice Lowcostaxi )privately after cancelling the hotel transfer service (Even after the hotel waived the Euro 15 charge) who provided a very professional and on time service without any of the previous hassles at the same Euro 90 charge.

So....A great hotel nearby the airport, beside an empty shopping centre but sadly Bad Management & too many recession cutbacks mean that the hard-working and friendly staff are not able to provide a quality 4 star service.

I would use the hotel again as the staff are excellent but would NEVER book the sub-contracted transfer, as just left a bad taste and skip breakfast

Room Tip: No porter service so get a lower floor room near lift if lots of luggage

Dear Neill,
on behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologise for not exceeding your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you gave us to ensure we offer a better experience for our guests in the future.
I am sorry you were not satisfied with the transfer service, because Mr Eride is always at our guests’ complete disposal to assist them during their stay at our hotel. As you wrote in your request by e-mail, a transfer with a large van was provided to pick you up with all your luggage, but when Mr Eride arrived at the airport he realised that you would have been more comfortable with two vans. You did not mention in your review that you did not pay for the transfers. Mr Eride made them for free, whose rate was supposed to be € 30,00, since you were not satisfied.
The rate of the transfer to Venice was higher, because when there is lot of luggage two vans are necessary and that is what happened with you. If you in any case decided to travel in a narrow and for this reason cheaper car, it was not an inefficiency of our driver and it was not a safe way of travelling.
As far as check-in and breakfast service are concerned, during the days of your stay we received a last minute group reservation. Therefore, since we could not foresee the hotel occupancy, we could not arrange the work shifts accordingly. As you can easily understand by reading the satisfaction of our guests here and in other websites, this is not our standard and situations like this quite never happen.
I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience.
Yours sincerely,
Tiziano Simonato

Massive bed, speedy check in, good variety of breakfast buffet (cold meats, eggs, coffee, Italian bread and cakes, cereals and fruits etc), smiles from the service staff (English not a problem), AC, mini bar and phone in the room and the most comfortable and, just to throw it in again, THE largest bed I've ever slept in. This is the best Best Western Hotel I've been to. A very high standard of 4* (has the potential to be 4*s). The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport, loads of parking, wifi, gym and business facilities are available.
The hotel is modern, spacious and extremely clean.
If I was to really nic-pic at the hotel it would be that check in was too speedy; nothing was explained for example wifi, gym or breakfast (I don't know if this is because we had a late check in at around 22:00). Would be nice to have some room reading and some stationary and also a few more toiletries would have helped (bathroom was extremely clean). But overall I was very surprised at the high standard.
Final summation - clean, convenient, modern, fresh hotel with a large room. Perfect for the price.

I've been to BHR twice, both of them fantastic experiences!!
Perfect infrastructure, beautiful and really modern rooms.
The breakfast is complete, with whatever you need to star your day.
It's not exactly near the Treviso City center, but you have a so great time there that this will certainly be just a detail. As I've choose the hotel for a business trip, it brought me all that I've needed.

I booked this hotel as a cheap base for a couple of nights but was really impressed and surprised by what we found.

The hotel is located about five minutes by taxi from Treviso airport and a short bus ride to Treviso station where you can get the train right into the centre of Venice for about 5 euro.

The hotel is an ultra modern building with contemporary rooms and public areas.

Upon arrival, the staff were friendly and courteous and were kind enough to speak fluent English as well as being excellent ambassadors for the area providing maps and other information when requested.

The rooms were very good with a massive super king size bed and spacious bathroom. Really impressive room size and very clean and modern. No views but that's not really a problem as it's not the kind of hotel where you spend much time in the room.

Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly. I would highly recommend the restaurant at the hotel on an evening - it's reasonably priced and the pasta dishes were amazing (well, if the Italians can't cook pasta well who can?)

The hotel is quite isolated but there's lots of parking and it's on a bus route if you're not driving.

It's worth spending a couple of hours exploring Treviso itself as it's a beautiful town and you can easily hop on the train to Venice afterwards which takes about 30 minutes.

Fantastic stay - will be back if I'm ever in the area again.

Only stayed one night. Had the best sleep in the most comfortable bed. The double bed is more like a king size bed with 6 soft fluffy pillows. Close to Treviso airport - 5 mins in a taxi. We had the hotel BBQ in the evening, well cooked, beautiful steak. We even had time to use the hotel spa/gym facility which is on the top floor with the view of the surrounding area. The spa is a bit small for the size of the hotel, but hardly any one was there, may be it is adequate for the type of traveller this hotel attracts. Not much near the hotel and the surrounding area is not particularly good. But a great stop over when travelling via Treviso airport.

We stayed here as part of Thomas Cook package tour. It is about 45 minutes drive from the boat boarding point for St Mark's Cathedral.

Very large, spacious rooms; Bath room has a bath tub but no separate shower area. The toilet is equipped with a bidet for additional comfort.

Even though a coffee kettle is not a standard equipment, they do provide on request.

No ironing board is provided.

Breakfast was very good in terms of spread and quality.

Would certainly recommend.
