This Hotel was the best we stayed in while in Norway for 9 days. It is off the beaten path and a great location to stay when hiking the Kjreg. It doubles as a great restaurant with an awesome complimentary breakfast. They have a great gift shop with many things they make on site including a huge candle making section. They have a reception area for locals who want to have weddings or events and it is made Into the rock underground . The room we stayed in was #3 and was small and cozy but had everything ya need. It could be a problem if the adjoining room was noisy but for us they were not. Overall a great stay! They went above and beyond as my wife had a medical emergency requiring us to leave in the early evening. We turned in our key and left as we didn't know if we could return. When we were able to return they left us a key in a box at midnight for us to get back in our room.

The hotel and its grounds is the whole place. The old converted dairy has great charm with high ceilings with exposed timber rafters. The food is really good and a hearty breakfast with bread from the bakery on the grounds is as fresh as you can get.
Great staff that speak English well and can answer all your questions. Great base to do your hiking from.
Lot of local crafts and food items for sale as well as candles made on site in all shapes and forms.

Spent one night at this cute little hotel/motel. Rooms are located in small cottages around main building. Rooms are basic but with a good bed and a new and ok bathroom. Coffee/tea making facilities, and a goat just outside my window! Different and exciting!

We stayed here because we planned on doing the Kjeragbolten hike early in the morning. The place is a nice mix off old world and slightly modern. The cottages that you stay in have grass roofs while they have good wifi inside. The staff was super friendly and helpful, knowing that we were planning to leave early they keep a lunch in their fridge and the night porter had it ready for us at 4am (thank you so much)! The only downside was that our room was on the small side but then again this is my first trip to Europe so I'm not sure if that's the norm here. We also ate in the main lodge and the steaks were excellent. We would definitely stay here again. If you do visit this place say hi to the goats for us!
