The surroundings are really nice, staff is very helpful, and nice neat rooms. The spa is nice, although I'm was new to the spa concept. The dinner was a bit industrial though. Great brunch. Paid extra for 'forest' view, which wasn't really worth it. Otherwise the hotel had a good atmosphere. Wouldn't have a problem coming back. The combination of spa, nice rooms, and fine food makes it convenient for a quick inexpensive romantic getaway.

This hotel derives its income from running corporate events. As a result it is quite soulless. The hotel is of a good standard but what I found the most annoying is the restaurant. I was presented with menu, this is a fixed 5 course meal where you can choose which courses to eat. There was no other option. I could not believe this. I was told they could do some alternatives, but have to say there was no proper menu to hand. The spa is ok but nothing to write home about, though the brochure makes it look very much better.

Went to this place for meeting session over 2 days. Unfortunately there were no time to visit the spa, but the food in this place is the best, I have ever had at a conference/business meeting facility. There are a great selection of teas and snacks between meetings, and breakfast and lunch were outstanding. They even have their own cookbook, which I just had to purchase. I'd like to go there privately too. Located close to the train station, but a long and expensive taxi drive from CPH airport.

Was there during a small business trip and it was surprisingly good.
Good rooms with good media, nice location with a nice bar and restaurant. The breakfast was really good and kind of unusual in a good way.
Would def. recommend it.

I attended a 2 day event here and would be happy to go back. The meeting room was large and accommodated various activities easily. The meals were excellent. They were happy to accommodate special dietary needs. My room was comfortable and spacious (especially for European standards). Just wish I would have had time for the spa!

We are 4 person for a family and, booked a room according to us and when i saw the room have a disappoitment. Because, there was a bad smell in room and there was no any wiev. Because, room was on level ground and there was plants beyond 1-2 meters from rooms windows. When we asked another room on another flour, they said that all family rooms are same flour. So, they gave another room same flour and we spend 2 days in there. Staff were very friendly and all of them could speak english very fluently. Breakfast was not perfect for foreign tourist it was according to more scandinavian peoples. When you arrive hotel first time, you can feel to come the summer house. Because, hotel has a perfect garden like on pictures.

We, a family of 4, spent 6 nights at Borupgaard. It is a nice, clean, open and airy hotel with contemporary furniture in a very nice countryside setting close to the coast. It has a nice restaurant and a spa section.
We stayed in a suite on the bottom floor facing a closed court. Perhaps not the best choice of location for a suite, but it was big and comfortable with 2 bathrooms, both of which sadly lacked pegs to hang towels or bathrobes on. In a spa hotel you go through both like a wildfire. The suite had 2 small flatscreen TV's with a limited selection of TV-channels and none for children. When you travel with children you realize the importance of Cartoon Network and the like.
Breakfast was very nice with a good healthy selection. We were especially impressed by the juice bar which featured 3 different kind of fresh juices (spinach, pineapple and? one with carrots, ginger and? and finally a freshly pressed orange juice). The freshly baked bread was delightful, but thinned out after a couple of hours, so dont be late. The only disappointments were the scrambled egg and the bacon. The first was clearly powder based and the latter ovencooked to cinders. The first couple of days breakfast was served in the big and very very cold breakfast room upstairs. A number of guests complained about the temperature, including me, to which the desk staff said; "We will get right on it - I will talk to staff in the breakfast room immediately" very chirpy and helpfull. But you did not and you could not. I talked to the staff in the breakfast room and they told me the coldness is due to a constructional error and a flaw in your aircon system. It cannot be helped. Please tell the truth. And, might I add, when you promise more mini-croissants - in a couple of minutes - please deliver, because my children are waiting. Untill the end of breakfast in fact. Minor details, but it counts.
The spa is very nice, but naturally designed and built for couples, not for children, who have limited hours of access. It would be nice with alternatives. For instance Comwell could, with a limited investment, refurbish the very tired "Childrens playroom" with the ping-pong table and the big flatscreen, which is the only thing that separates it from a standard meeting room.
Apart from those minor details and suggestions, we had a very pleasant stay and can recommend Borupgaard to couples who would like a quiet weekend in a rural setting close to the beach, Elsinore and Louisiana.

Room Tip: Go for rooms on the top floor. Rooms on the socalled ground floor has that basement feel to them.
