Elegant dining room with beautiful woodwork, flowers and linen table
cloths. The menu for lunch was great and not at all expensive.Top that off with great wine and good service.I would go back in a minute if in the area again. We asked to meet the chef and she graciously accepted our complements.

My husband and I stayed in September at La Chanceliere in Saint Satur 'a deux pas' de Le Laurier restaurant. Our hosts recommended highly the restaurant. From the outside we did not see much activity but when we went inside, what a warm and lovely atmosphere and greeting. The daily blackboard menu was fantastic and we chose from this, the crottin de chavignol with salad and nut oil to finish our meal was a highlight. The gentleman looking after the restaurant was charming and his mother the talented chef. We were so pleased with our meal, we went back the second night to dine there again. My husband left his sweater behind, and the following morning, they had remembered where we had said we were staying and they had contacted the b&b to let them know and our host went to collect it for us before we had even arrived for breakfast.
A wonderful restaurant not to be missed if you are going to Sancerre. We hope to be able to return.

We spent three weeks in France, mostly in Paris, and this restaurant is one of the highlights of our trip.

We recently stayed two wonderful nights at the La Chanceliere Inn and enjoyed both nights dinner at Le Laurier. We dined outside in their walled courtyard, which is decorated with wonderful flowers/plants, along with overhead cover to make a very special dining experience. It's a family run restaurant with the talented son providing the best service and his mother the chef, whom is very talented to make her dining creations. The menu is small, which I love, thus allowing you to enjoy the best.

You must include dinner at this wonderful restaurant when in the Sancerre area.

Wonderful!

It doesn't look much from the outside. But don't be fooled. Inside in the small courtyard they serve absolut excellent food and Wine. And they know how to make a god atmosphere to accompany the chefs efforts. We had lovely 3course diner with rabbit pate, veal with truffelmash and - of course - goatscheses with excellent Sancerre whitewine, handpicked by the very serviceminded waiter. This was by far the best meal during our 3 week stay in France. And next time we will consider driving a detour to have a meal there again. You must go there if you are in Sancerre.

We were directed to Restaurant de l'hotel le Laurier by our host Nicole at La Chanceliere. What a lovely surprise to find an elegantly appointed quiet restaurant just down the street. Black chalkboard menu with the day's offerings - all (as to be expected) very local, fresh and tasty. Had a good meal, good wine ... all with great service in a beautiful room. A delightful surprise addition to our overnight stay in Saint-Satur.
