Lovely friendly people, great coffee and fabulous cake.
Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Nothing was too much trouble.

We saw the sign for great coffee a few times in passing but were a bit dubious and didn't end up stopping in until our last day on the island after being disappointed by coffees in other places (not everyone who advertises a flat white knows how to make one) - and we were sorry we had not stopped in earlier - quite simply the best coffee on the island - and a place of lovely, friendly local flavour.

A lovely little shop packed with goodies and essentials. Did not try the coffee or snacks as we were staying neareby and did not need this facility. Seating outside which was very popular.

Super little shop and café on the shores of Loch Indaal in the village of Bruichladdich.
In the shop all manner of groceries are on sale complete with a huge profusion of other non & essential goods for the shopper. There is also an area serving snacks, coffeee & cake.We were taking in the Bruichladdich whiskey tour and stopped here for a quick bite at lunchtime and enjoyed a hot chocolate(it was a cold January day) complete with a huge slice of home made coffee cake. Both hit the spot and set us up for the tasting in the afternoon. The café was made up of odds and ends of differing furniture, rather cute, felt as though you were in your Great Aunts house. Debbie was a delight and we were treated to conversation by the next door neighbour who popped in for her daily bacon bap, a botanist originally from Gloucestershire who kept us amused with local tales. Lovely experience on the very friendly Isaly.

I think possibly my expectations were too high, the website advertised the best coffee this side of Milan . Being a big coffee lover I thought I best give it a go. Got two flat whites and a latte to go. I wasn't aware that milk could be super heated, but it can. The latte and flat whites were both the same size and basically identical. Sadly couldn't drink any of the coffee as it tastes so burnt and the milk was really badly overheated. Cakes weren't up too much and didn't by any either. The server was nice and I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel it is being honest sorry.
