first time in 10 years I went cross country skiing.I don't have a car so I need public transport.I took a bus to Faistenau from Salzburg (5,30 Euro).Faistenau is also called cross country skiing village because they have ski trails and plenty of them..Mostly in Austria cross country trails are where the ski resorts are. Weather was not perfect,no sun, but good for skiing.Faistenau also has a web page where there is information about the weather and the trails.I don't have the equipment: I rented
10 euro for 2 hours which is enough to begin with.So you can walk the next without too much pain. There is a sports shop next to bus stop and across the street from the trails. It cost 4 Euro a day to use the trails .The trails were good but not perfect because is has been rather warm lately and there could be a bit snow on the trail. i had a slight problem finding back to the shop.Maybe there is a sign missing or I just didnt see it.
