“Nice place”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for a full week in spring. Good restaurant. Innovative cuisine. Nice rooms. The road is just outside so it is a bit noisy with the window open. Breakfast was nice too. Very near everything, including the lake, village centre, et cetera.

When I arrived hungry after my flight and taxi ride, they arranged a lunch for me in the restaurant next to the hotel, even while lunchtime was over. The rooms are of very good space, for me the mattress was way to hard, but the shower made up for it.
My room didn't have a view only on a stone wall, but I didn't mind for this stay, If you want a view over the lake, you will have to pay more. The staff is very friendly and absolutely showed they knew what hospitality is, I felt very welcome, Thanks.

Room Tip: Take a room at the front of the hotel. They come with a view over the lake.

I stayed at the Hotel Capovilla on business and liked it so much decided to bring my wife for the weekend. The location overlooking Lago d'Iseo in the vibrant small town of Pisogne is idyllic. Alessandro and his team made us very welcome - nothing was too much to ask. Clean rooms, comfy bed, free WiFi - we were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the lake which was a real bonus. There is a road and a railway line in front of the Hotel, but with double glazed windows and air conditioning our sleep was not disturbed at all. Pisogne is around an hour from Bergamo Airport, a Ryanair hub with direct flights to London Stansted. We will be back, Alessandro!

Room Tip: It is worth the extra for a room with a view of the lake.

Town hotel with quirky Italian decor. I was expecting a grander room than the one we were given). The receptionist was understanding and moved us to the fab red room for the one night that it was available. No hassle, no extra charge. When we moved back to our original smaller room, it was actually very good - squeaky clean, comfortable bed, and a unique interesting style. The window looked a bit weird in the corner, but it had a nice lake view when you sat up in bed.

Breakfast was tasty Italian fare with delicious coffee and the big glass windows gave lovely long views of the lake. The restaurant was very popular in its own right (didn't try it but will next time). The trains are no bother at all. There are a handful of places to eat in Pisogne - all with a local, not touristy, feel to them. The central bar/gelateria is fab to people watch.

We drove south (approx 10 minutes) to Sulzano and caught one of the frequent ferries to Monte Isola for a brilliant day walking up (600 m) and around the car free Island. It is surprisingly quiet in May and there are not that many places to eat outside of picturesque Peshiera.

There are loads of spectacular walks in the area. One morning, we marched off, up through Pisogne and on up a fairly steep 1000+ metres (with the failed aim of walking to the fairies of the forest). Thick forests, flower filled meadows and stunning views of the snow topped alps. The routes are marked but we were hopeless without a map. We were very thirsty when we stumbled across the wonderful Agriturismo Romangelo. Lucky us! We had a fab (very reasonably priced) lunch of local cheeses and meats with chilled beer and stunning lake views - plus directions of how to get back to Pisogne.

If you like walking or have a car, there are lots of old, atmospheric villages around Lake Iseo, with tiny cobbled streets and often clinging to the side of a mountain. The local people are extremely friendly and many grow their own veg, keeps dogs, cats, goats and the like.

Zone with the "fairies of the forest" is a good place to walk but probably easier if you drive there and park first!

The hotel is situated opposite the lake. is very welcoming.
The rooms are very nice, with TV and air conditioning.
The hotel has a small spa, but beautiful.
There is a sauna, can be accessed through a reservation at the hotel reception.
The breakfast is very filling, not just coffee and milk, but also typical food of the area, such as salami etc..
Nearby there are the typical places where you can go and eat.

We arrived fairly late at night. Took 2 rooms. They were very clean, new and had a lot of space. The breakfast was good and the lady who was at the desk and breakfast was extremely nice. We took a morning walk on the lake and returned. The hotel is 10 meters from the water with the train going between the hotel and the lake. We did not hear it at all. If you want to make a stop in the area it is a great choice.
