This review is in two parts. First the hotel then the resort. We are a middle 50's couple on a 10 day tour of Sicily, this is our last stop. I will quote from a previous review of this hotel " All in all, the hotel is nice", and I think that sums it up perfectly, could do better, could do worse. Good points, well it has a good setting on the entrance to one of the best little seaside resorts that we found on Sicily (more later). Very friendly management and staff, good bar, restaurant and pizzaria. Bad points, no fridge in the room (although this may not be important to you), paying for internet access, very thin walls, very average breakfasts compared to others we tried. The most important point if you are considering this hotel is room choice. There are only about 10 rooms with a terrace and sea view, the others are either no terrace or a small one with an awful view of the road in! Only rooms worth considering are first floor with sea view, these are odd numbered rooms from 101 to 111 inclusive. Room 118 also has a terrace and sea view but is I think a 4 berth room. Now , on to Siculiana Marina. It is wonderful, even if you don't stay here visit if you can, well worth it. The village is very small, reminded me of some Cornish village with a half mile long beach. No shops but about 5 or 6 restaurants and pizzarias. One you really must try is called Lustru di Luna . This is a serious seafood restaurant with the restaurant just hanging over the beach. Food and service were excellent, laid back atmosphere, one of the best restaurants we ate in during our stay in Sicily, if you are in the area just 'go eat'! There are several B&B's in the village and, if we return we would probably use one of those but don't write the hotel off, it was fine for a couple of nights, just make sure you get the right room.

Room Tip: Rooms 101 to 111 inclusive, or, if you are a family of 4 then room 118, don't consider anything else.

All in all, the hotel is nice, its strong points being the very friendly staff and the closeness of a great wild sandy beach. It is very quiet and thus recommendable for family trips. Rooms are ok, but you might be unlucky enough to come across the smallest shower cabin you have ever seen. Staff is not very good at English, so it is better if you know at least 20-30 words in Italian. Prices are somewhat big for the conditions offered.

This hotel, formerly owned by the church but now privately run by 3 brothers, was a real find. I chose it because it was in an ideal position for exploring the surrounding area, and also because it was in a quiet hamlet by the sea.
I had a sea-facing room with ensuite and a large balcony. The room had everything I needed and I was very comfortable.
I had breakfast and evening meals - and what meals they were! The food was absolutely delicious - fresh and full of flavour.
I was very well looked after by all the staff but would specially mention Giovanni and Giuseppe - two very kind and charming men who went out of their way to ensure I had a great time during my first holiday in Sicily. I hope that one day I will return to Sicily and when I do, I will stay here again!
