A great find, a lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, was warmly welcomed by Hilary when we arrive and after been shown to our room was given tea and cakes. Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was freshly prepared and excellent. We had a lovely couple of days and would definitely be going back there and recommending Brownber Hall to our family and friends.

We were warmly welcomed by Hilary as we parked the car and after being shown to our rooms were given tea, coffee and cakes on the terrace - what a wonderful way to start our short break!

We (two adults and teenage son) all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts make you truly welcome and the location is wonderful with great walks starting literally at the door.

The experience of Brownber Hall is one that we thoroughly recommend!

What a fantastice find - we have been complimenting ourselves on discovering Brownber Hall but of course all the plaudits should go to Hilary and Drew plus their gorgeous dog Lui. We all had a great stay, including our dog who felt right at home. We were lucky to have fantastic weather but this place would be great in the rain too - relaxed, friendly, all the details taken care of and just a great experience all round. It really made our break - and the location is stunning.

We picked this lovely B&B for a one night stay with some friends visiting from Holland, because it looked so attractive on its website. We were not disappointed. Hilary gave us a very warm welcome, even though we arrived a bit early with her permission. Even our old dog was made to feel that she was a welcome guest! The rooms were most comfortable and clean with outstanding views of the hills. The breakfast was well prepared and of high quality. Nothing was too much trouble for Hilary. What more can you ask! We shall recommend it to everyone.

A very comfortable and welcoming B&B. We were welcomed by the proprietor and offered tea in the guests lounge, and we were soon made to feel at home. This was the first time we had taken a dog with us and everything was made problem free and easy for us.
The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and we slept very well. The en-suite was also immaculate and well appointed.
Breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the beautiful view and red squirrels to entertain us.
We will hopefully return before too long.

I doubt you will find a more engaging place than this. We went on a very wet weekend in January. The walking, straight from the front door, was excellent. Rained constantly but we were waterproofed up to the hilt. Hilary made sure we knew about her drying room and provided us with tea and cakes in front of them roaring wood burner upon our return. The room overlooked the valley with glorious views of the Howgills in the distance (only a short drive away and you'd be disappointed to see more than two or three folk all day). Breakfast was delicious and so was watching the red squirrels and birds directly outside the window whilst eating it. Brownber Hall is a gem and we will be going back, hopefully when the spring flowers are in full bloom. Oh and by the way. There are two fantastic gourmet pubs within 2 miles of Brownber Hall. You'll be spoilt for choice! Hilary will recommend them. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Get one at the front for the great views.

We arrived after a day of hiking in the rain, and were welcomed into a cozy sitting room with a fireplace, where Hilary and Drew took our wet things down to the drying room. The rooms were beautiful, the breakfast great.
