I wish I could give Don Paddy's 3.5 as it's slightly better than average but is not really "very good". My reasons for this are that the welcome was rather lukewarm, the service was a bit slow and the waitress was neither well informed nor particularly invested in ensuring we had a good experience. I didn't feel that our custom was appreciated. The food was fine but not outstanding. it was more expensive and the quality was less than that of equivalent dishes in many a good pub/restaurant in the Lake District (our local area). I appreciate that we were there on a busy summer evening but we left with a vague general sense that it was ok but we won't rush back.

Second visit to Don Paddy’s. Enjoyed the food and the ambiance but it is a little pricey for what you get. £4.90 for pint of San Miguel is a little over the top. Enjoyed the Halloumi fritter starter and the lamb was delicious. The petit pois, however, were like shotgun pellets. My wife really enjoyed her asparagus starter and fish and chips. Service is quick and efficient and the atmosphere lively. Would I go again? Yes. Probably wouldn’t have as much wine to keep the price down.

It's a place where I can relax and have a very good coffee. The cakes and the sausage rolls are very tasty. I also enjoy having a pint once in a while. Resuming :it is definitely a place to stop once you visit Uppingham

Thank you for your review of Don Paddy's. We are an independently owned business, and take pride in our coffee and getting to know our customers! Our lovely cake ladies bake our sweet treats, sausage rolls and infamous cheese straws every day. We transform from a coffee house to a bustling brasserie - wine bar in the evening, with a great wine list and selection of Cask Marque Awards Ales and Continental Lagers. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Love going to Don Paddy’s. Friendly staff and good food. Even the scampi, which I normally avoid, was delicious. Will definitely be going back.
