“Well equipped house with fantastic views”

We spent a week at Beacon House and could happily have stayed longer. We were fortunate with good weather so had some lovely walks with our dogs. Our two teenage grandchildren were quite happy to forgo Internet and electronic games, we played bingo and cards and chatted! The house was well equipped and spacious, and was a short car ride from Berwick. Would love to stay here again.

“A very comfortable house beautifully situated with local attractions for all ages.”
Reviewed 5 June 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We stayed here with our daughter, son-in-law and their two early teenage boys and found it very comfortable. Even before the occasional morning mist burnt off, the sea views were stupendous. The harbour, beach and bird-thronged cliffs are all within easy walking distance with several impressive castles within an hour's drive.

“Great Place & Fabulous Location”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

House was great, situated in fab location for the harbour and the beach, went with wife and teenager step daughter and our two dogs....and all loved the house and St Abbs.

The Beacon was clean and welcoming and ideal for a large family or group of friends to enjoy a holiday with all the comforts of home.

Ideally placed for the east coast of Scotland and the Boarders, with Dunbar, North Berwick, Eyemouth and Edinburgh a short car journey away.

Locally facilities good, with a lovely café and post office a moments walk away.

“fantastic base in area of outstanding beauty”
Reviewed 20 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

As we holiday with our dog, we always look for somewhere comfortable with plenty of walking from the door - the beacon delivers both. The house was warm, comfy, with well sound proofed windows, so we could enjoy the lovely sea views, and watch the nesting gulls on the rocks without being kept awake. The walks in the area were some of the most beautiful we have been on, especially the paths to the lighthouse, around the nature reserve, and the costal route to eyemouth where you can get a well deserved ice-cream. Coldingham bay is just a minute away, with a cafe, and cute beach huts that were just being opened up as we were there, with families setting up for the day, and surfers enjoying the waves on an evening. Loads of fresh air and sunshine - fab!

“We love the Beacon !”
Reviewed 10 November 2013 for a stay in July 2013

We have stayed in the Beacon over the last few summers and as soon as we leave the children ( and adults) are counting the sleeps till we return. The Beacon has the most amazing views out to sea and nothing beats eating breakfast enjoying that view what a start to your day! The house is very clean everything you need is provided( local info ,spades pails, even birthday candles ! ) David the owner is very friendly and can't do enough to make you feel at home ( even apologising when the weather was bad !) The Beacon has an enclosed garden that is very well cared for , we would highly recommend the Beacon to anyone wanting to holiday in St . Abb's.

“A relaxing home from home with an amazing view”
Reviewed 28 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

The Beacon is a relaxing home from home with all the necessary trimmings for an enjoyable stay, and that is just the house. The view is spectacular looking out to the sea where you can see dolphins/porpoises actually go by (we did and thats not something you can say about just anywhere, which certainly made my Son's day... mine to if I am being honest :) ) At night it is quiet and if it is a clear night with there being no big city lights around you can see all the stars in their multitudes. Overall, it was so nice and relaxing my partner has already booked for another weekend away in the New Year. The Owner David has to get a special mention for actually seeming to care how your holiday goes which says a lot in this day and age (gold star for that one) On a side note, my partner loved it for the coal fire alone, which she says is an amazing added bonus.
