From the “Bonjour” to the “Au Revoir” Marie-Laure and Gérard were welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts. We had a large room on the ground floor with a separate sitting area. Although there was no A/C, it was quiet and we could leave the windows open (with shutters closed to prevent birds from visiting) at night. We were provided varying breakfast choices each morning and when the weather was good, enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. Gourmet dinners were offered on Tuesday and Thursday evenings that Gérard prepared and they were always creative and delicious – highly recommended.
There is a large outside sitting area and a small, but welcome swimming pool, and parking is provided.
The only downsides for us were that the bed, though large, was somewhat uncomfortable and needed a new mattress, IMO. Also the room was a bit “tired” and could use some renovation. The waterfall shower head was in need of replacement.
Also, credit cards are not accepted – only cash, check in euros, or bank transfer, and a deposit was required.
The lodging is ~15-20 min. drive from Sarlat, but we liked being away from the pretty, but crowded town.
In our opinion, if you want to stay with very friendly and helpful hosts away from town with the ability to have some really fine dinners without having to leave, stay here. You will not regret it.More
