Great market. Food at one end and the rest at the other. Some different stalls, including being able to buy vanilla pods in quantity, spice stall, silver jewelry, materials as well as clothes, bags and shoes. Food stalls can change week by week as different foods come into season. Fruits can be amazing, Also cheese, deli, fish, wine and plants. Really good Roti chicken stall. Get there early to get a parking spec in the shade and be able to wander round the market in the narrow streets without having to avoid lots of people. It gets very busy.

We are making our way up the Canal Du Midi and arrived at Homps port and moored our boat. The market is approx 2.5km from Homps. We rode our bikes and it took approx 10 - 15. The market operates until approx lunchtime. The food is filled with fresh local produce , great cheeses, fruits, roasted chickens, potatoes & ratatouille, olives, pastries etc. there's a great variety of clothing, linen, bags & jewellery. A lovely way to spend a morning.

Les Halles in Narbonne is the standard by which others can be judged but this is a local version and one should not perhaps have too many expectations. Having been many times over recent years with visiting friends wanting to experience a local market, we find this worth a wander although we feel that generally, the quality on offer is not terribly exciting and the prices are high. It is, however, a buzz for a Tuesday morning. Parking within the village can be challenging so we tend to park on the outskirts coming from the direction of Homps, and walk. It enables a quick getaway as well.

Great local produce on a Tuesday. Have a wander round and stock up on delicious cheeses, fresh veg, cooked chickens, olives and tapenades. None of it's cheap - not by any means - but you'll have bought yourself a picnic lunch to remember!
