After a long journey, we stumbled across this hotel, after driving into the courtyard and felt that this might be out of our price range, we were pleasantly surprised by the welcome and cost of our room - it was a quiet time and managed to negotiate an upgrade. Ignore all negative comments in trip advisor this hotel is now under new management and have started refurbishments on the reception/spa/breakfast room to a very nice standard, the bedrooms although clean are due for upgrading and we understand that this is under way.
We did enjoy our overnight stop that we decided to stay for another night on our return journey. There are restaurants in the village, but we used one that is situated just outside the hotel gates, called la Grange a Dime which specialises in traditional medieval french cuisine, David a charming manager will be able to book for you if required.
