We had a wonderful holiday here, despite a couple of unseasonably rainy days in the beginning. The house is great, with everything you need - and James got the wifi working in the cottage which was very helpful. We all loved the lake, my mother swam in it every morning, and the children played happily down there in the dinghy and swam, with James & Roo's girls and Gabriel - it was idyllic. The area is also very beautiful, and we enjoyed the bee museum and the bat museum (on the rainy days),and lunch in the harbour at le Pouldu. We really enjoyed the fresh lettuces, courgettes and herbs from the vegetable garden - and the meal James cooked for us on the first night was wonderful after a long drive. The local town Le Faouet is great, but shame the market is only fortnightly so we missed it. Thank you James & Roo and family! Lucy, Dan, Sally, Julian, Oscar & Rufus
We've just got back from spending 8 wonderful days at this Gite. It's a fantastic place to stay. Slap bang in the middle of Brittany means that you're never stuck for things to see and do. But if you fancy just relaxing you can walk across the lane to spend the day at your own private lake with the added treat of a rubber dinghy. The kids loved it. There's also plenty of frogs in the lake to keep the kids entertained.
The house is well equipped. The kitchen dining area has everything you need and the living room is spacious enough for all the family to settle down to watch a DVD or a TV program on the UK freeview box at the end of the day.
The main bedroom is large and and bright with a comfortable bed and other French style antiquities. The kids rooms were adequate sizes.
All in all its a comfortable place to spend your holiday.
The owner, James, was brilliant. He couldn't do enough to make sure we had a great stay. He left a basket of home grown fruit and vegetables on our doorstep on the first day as well as making sure we had bread, milk and other essentials when we turned up.
One day he even took our washing off the line and put it through the spin dryer for us when it started raining. He was great with the kids too. Giving them a lift down to the lake on his old tractor.
The only downside was the lack of wifi in the Gite itself. Wifi is available if you sit over by James' house. Which meant if the kids wanted internet access they had to go outside which made a nice change actually.
The shower was very small which was another downside but apart from that the place is perfect. I would recommend it if you're heading to Brittany.
