Not knowing the Alsace, friends with 25 years of experience in that area invited us for a trip. We think they wanted to be sure of success, they handpicked some of the best restaurants in the area.
Maximilien is definately the best we visited in that area. A very creative menu (I had pigeon and lobster which proved to be a very good combination. Might have been the French "surf and turf"??) Also a very good wine card: I drank there the first Pinot Noir I liked, liked enough to visit the winemaker the next day and buy a few cartons!
Spacy restaurant, giving plenty of privacy and a teriffic view on the garden.
Not a cheap restaurant, actually, it is expensive, but they give you something in return which we thought made it all worth..
