This hotel is more like a motel with ground floor rooms with parking outside. It is within 10 miles or so of Ashbourne so close to Peak District. The room was comfortable and the staff friendly. The Mundy Arms close by is a great place to eat!

We stayed here for two nights between Christmas and New Year to do some walking in the Derbyshire Dales and to visit Derby.

The hotel is easy to find adjacent to the Mundy Arms on the A52. The hotel is made up of small bungalow type rooms set around the pub car park. The hotel and pub were very quiet whilst we were there and we didn't experience any noise.

The room was a good size with a large bathroom and all you need for a nights stay.

We ate breakfast at the pub next door, it was a self service buffet with the option of a hot breakfast if required. We also had an evening meal there on the first night and the choice and food served were excellent. The cost was very reasonable for both breakfast and dinner.

We caught the bus in to Derby from the stop outside the hotel and it is only a 10 minute journey. Derby itself is a lovely pedestrianised city and great for shopping and eating.

We will definately use this hotel again if we are in the area.

Room Tip: All rooms look the same but higher numbers are further from the pub so may be quieter when it's...

I had a preconceived idea that a premier inn was cheap and basic, was surprised when I stayed here. The room was spacious the adjacent pub served great food and generous breakfasts. Staying here is very convenient for the university and the price of the room was unbelievable cheap. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here and would stay here again.

My husband & I stayed here for one night (Saturday 30/11/13), and had a lovely time there. The room was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal and a wonderful breakfast in the Munday Arms, which is situated on the hotel site. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Will definitely use this Premier Inn again if we are ever in the area again!

Room Tip: A lovely clean hotel. Very quiet if you are looking for somewhere peaceful to stay.

We stayed here after a late night at the fireworks at nearby Alton Towers. We arrived late at about 9pm to find a nice warm comfy room, out little boy was asleep before his head hit the pillow so didn't get to visit the pub but the menu looked nice.

Popped back to reception for a couple of extra pillows, the reception was nice and the chap managing it was very pleasant and helpful. Few leaflets and a vending machine in there too if you need any nibbles or a drink.

We didn't bother with a bath or shower as we headed off home in the morning at about 9 but the bath looked small so don't plan a long soak, but it was clean and functional. the rooms were a good size and you only share a front door with 1 other room, I liked the bungalow arrangement, it was different and seemed to suit the location.

We had breakfast in the pub and it was very nice and the staff very friendly, genuinely couldn't fault it at all!

Only think I could see anyone having an issue with would possibly be if you had a room close to the main road, we were as far from the road as you could get and it was really quiet.

Room Tip: stay away from the road!

We had a couple of choices in Derby to pick from. There are a couple of Premier Inns in Derby.

We chose this one because we thought it would be quieter and easier to get to our friends at.

The rooms are large with a sizeable bathroom. Facilities are OK but the TV was c.1990s. The only downside was we were close to the road (Room 2) and had the traffic noise come through. It could have done with better soundproofing.

I know this isn't a City Centre Hotel but I felt with a good left boot someone could break into the room very easily. The lock didn't feel secure.

Room Tip: Try to pick a room as far away from the main road (A52) as possbile

We choose this Premier Inn as it is different, they are like apartment's (rooms) rather than high rise hotel, and done around the car-park, most have there own parking but the other's you park in the general car-park which is next to the pub. Reception staff friendly/ helpful ( Hayley is lovely) Rooms very clean but did smell musty! Breakfast is all you can eat/drink, cooked breakfast you have to ask if you wish for more! Breakfast is very yummy. Not far away from Derby town centre. I have give it 4 instead of 5 rating as still waiting for a refund on something and was told i would get a phone call after 3/5 working days......... still waiting for call after 10 working days!!!!! Head office is to blame for this!!!!
