We arrived to fresh strawberries and homemade cookies ... then were served a full Scottish dinner of soup, haggis-stuffed bacon-wrapped chicken with a devine whiskey sauce, and a lemon dessert, followed by coffee and more strawberries and mint chocolates ... next morning, there was the full Scottish breakfast. We were only there for one night, but if we are ever back in the area, we would consider a longer stay.

We have just returned from a two night stay and had a thoroughly good time. Lesley and David who own the B&B were super hosts; they are easy going and laid back so it is like staying with friends (without the obligation to offer to wash up). Lesley's cooking is absolutely divine - make sure you book the evening meal! and has the bonus of you being able to bring your own wine to go with it.

The rooms were well decorated and cosy (it rained quite a lot whilst we were there so feeling cosy was essential). We used the en suite bathroom on our 1st night and the shared bathroom on our 2nd night (we moved rooms) - both were very plush and the massive bath and selection of posh toiletries was an unexpected treat.

The location is excellent in terms of the landscape and scenery. We hope to return in the Spring or Summer and do a bit of walking.

Myself & my friend stayed at the The Old Church B & B on a sponsored bike ride that saw us ride the length of the UK twice. Of all the places we stayed, this stood out as being ultimately the best place we stayed. Lesley & David were so welcoming & inviting, it seemed like we'd been life long friends with the conversations we had!

The building itself is stunning! I can only recommend that you see it yourself to see the decor, style & warmth. Lesley is also an amazing cook & we were greeted with freshly baked cookies on our arrival & a wonderful breakfast with homemade jams aplenty!

We both hope to visit again in the near future!

Thanks!

David and Lesley are very special people - they go the extra mile with everything. It was an absolute delight to share their home for two nights. Lesley's cooking was a feast from start to finish - as an interested but sometimes lazy cook our stay has inspired me to get the cookery books out again and improve my home cooking! Thank you for a break that has done my husband and I a world of good. You must visit this wonderful B & B, we shall be back again to share their hospitality and enjoy their family.

After a day grafting on the hill, in the sometime inclement autumnal weather of East Ayrshire, this B&B ticks all the boxes. Warmth, hospitality, local information and a good bed. The morning after the good sleep, comes the grand breakfast, to 'fuel' you through another day! Essential! In my list of 'places to stay, through choice and or by neccesity of work.
