“Lovely and relaxing stay at St. James's Club at Mamora Bay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

We had a great week in June at the St. James's Resort. We stayed in a lovely Reef Suite facing the Atlantic ocean, with a king bed, large bathroom and lounge area. The staff were always pleasant and helpful. Service was first rate, the food was always very good and have a wide variety. Even though the Italian restaurant was closed for renovations, the Docksiders restaurant has great food with a beautiful setting while the Rainbow Garden was great for breakfast and lunch. We've been to Antigua a few times, and so only left the resort twice, once to go to Shirley's Height's on Sunday evening (a must) and did the Mystique catamaran-snorkeling excursion on the west side of the island, both excellent. I will definitely return to this resort.

I am normally a glass half empty type when it comes to vacations. It is just so hard for things to live up to the websites and pictures. This place is just breath taking. The food was was very good. Their was something for everyone to do, water sports, tours, beaches, games, and pools. The rooms were very clean. There was a slight damp smell but with the salt air that's hard to avoid. Biggest issues were the birds at breakfast, they are everywhere and will move in as soon as you get up. Biggest plus for SJC is the staff for sure. Every single waiter, bartender, front desk staff, or maintenance person was always very friendly and went the extra step. This place was above any expectations I ever could of imagined. We will be returning for an anniversary one day.

I have to start by saying that I have been very slow to add this review as I visited this resort in December 2013. However this being said I still feel that I wanted to thank the resort for a beautiful fortnight!!
The resort has a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere and I feel that it can appeal to very different types of traveller, though if you are looking for a party resort this may not be the one for you. I found the staff to be helpful and knowledgeable with always a 'hello' and a smile.
My room was clean and well maintained with a beautiful balcony overlooking the Atlantic side of the island. The housekeeping staff kept it pristine during my stay and I appreciated the beautiful local flowers on my arrival that had been scattered in the room.
The food offered a wide variety of local ingredients that I had not experienced before and it never became boring during the 2 weeks that I was there to eat in the Rainbow Room or Dockers.
Would love to visit again soon, thank you again for a wonderful stay.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at the St. James Club, and we couldn't have been happier. It was relaxing, the staff were friendly, and the food was delicious. We, also, took advantage of a couples swedish massage that overlooked the mountains that was phenomenal. When we arrived at our Royal Suite, there was two bottles of champagne and a letter from the management staff congratulating us on our wedding. The pool was awesome, and the water sports were very entertaining. An incredible time all around.

Room Tip: Choose the Royal Suites. Well worth the price.

Had a wonderful vacation at the St. James Club Antigua. Love the friendly staff, excellent maid service and beautiful upkeep of the resort itself and gardens. Rainbow Garden and Docksider restaurants fabulous food and lots of choices on the menu or the buffet. Picolo Mondo restaurant was closed for renovations when we were there. Taxi service on the island and at St. James is easy and readily available ( Highly recommend Donald Gilead) Shirley Heights Sunday night is a must, so is Devil's Bridge and zip-lining then OJ's for lunch (Donald will take you to all of these) There are plenty of FREE water sports on the Mamora Bay side or enjoy the Atlantic Ocean and the fabulous breeze on Coco Beach. Beautiful island and plenty to do, but also St. James is a great place to just rest and relax!! I would highly recommend St. James Club for a wonderful vacation!!

We used our first ever timeshare exchange to come to St James Club and we loved it! We stayed in a 2 bed/2bath Villa and it was so spacious and comfortable. Things that stood out for us: Incredible service, beautiful resort and accommodations, friendly staff (love Colin and Super Dave, both activities directors), plenty to do, great food and entertainment, met wonderful people that will be friends for life. Plain and simple....it was perfect!!

Room Tip: Villas are awesome if you have that option. They all had some sort of view and full living rooms, k...

Just returned from two weeks at St James's Club Antigua. We have been there before so we knew it was going to be very good. We stayed in a Royal Suite facing Mamora Bay. The room was fabulous with huge bed and large lounge area. It also had a large bathroom with twin showers, bathtub and twin washbasins. The Royal Suites also have their own pool area. Maid service was excellent with room cleaned spotlessly every day. We found the staff very friendly and always ready to help with all your needs.
There is some refurbishment taking place but you could always find a spot that was quieter.

Restaurants alternated between Rainbow Garden and Docksider with Coco's open 11am/11pm every day with an excellent but limited menu (ideal for lunch time). Plenty of choice wherever you chose to eat. Picolo Mondo was closed for refurbishment during our first week, but we managed to have a special birthday meal there before it closed. The food was amazing and well worth the supplement of $35.

The grounds are kept immaculate with gardeners at work all the time. There are plenty of free watersports on the Mamora Bay side of the resort or just laze in the breeze from the Atlantic Ocean on Coco beach. There is no humidity at this time of year, but the cool Jacaranda bar was still welcome in the evenings for cocktails.

We had a lovely holiday and would recommend this resort.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the main complex are quieter as this hotel is used by airline crew who come and go a...
