“A perfect get away !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

A perfect get away from Chandigarh..for an extended weekend
All our apprehensions vanished once we entered the Villa
We experienced all the comforts , from all angels ...at a highly reasonable price. May it be food, the friendly staff, and the immaculate up keep of the Place.

From the time I read the reviews and spoke to Divya, the owner's daughter I knew I had made the right choice. She gave me all the inputs for booking and also upgraded us to the 3 bedroom cottage since the two bed was unavailable. I got to stay only for two days but you bet I am returning for a longer experience. The cottages are located away from the main house and secluded within a fruit orchard. Ours had Kiwis around and hence the name Kiwi cottage. The interiors are beautiful , very tastefully done and everything is available. The ground floor had a living/TV/Dining room , a well equipped kitchen and one large bedroom. two bedrooms with a sitout balcony were on upper floor. A wooden staircase leads to that from the living area. There was a small sitting area outside with a garden umbrella. One can drive till the cottage which has a small parking too.
We reached in evening and were met by Devi the caretaker who took care of all our needs. A delicious plum cake , fruits and juice awaited us. There was milk and biscuits in the kitchen. She took our dinner order and got us a huge helping which the four of us could not finish. The food was tasty and a relief as we had been eating in hotels and dhabhas for last 3 days.Mrs Anita Khullar the owner was kind enough to drop by and welcome us to the place. Later we took a walk to neeralaya and checked it out too. I met Muneer the owner and was impressed by their setup especially since they are practically on the river but I think Anita khullar's place is more value for money and more homestay like compared to them. I missed Himachali food and would go there again for that. Their cook is goan and am looking forward for goan treats too.We had a great time and loved sitting in the balcony for tea early morning and at night. The sky at night is amazing and full of stars. What a view. Couple of things that could enhance the experience would be books , some local sightseeing and reading material , a microwave oven and indoor games for kids.

The Himalayas have always been home for me..every so often I head home to Our Place Himalayas ! This must have been my fifth visit in as many years. Picture post card setting. A couple of tastefully decorated cottages nestled in the midst of a fruit orchard. The soothing sound of the river Beas rumbling down with ice cold water laden with trout some of which is off loaded to be grilled for our meals !
Given notice the charming hostess Anita can lay out a five course typical Himachali feast.
One can take packed picnic hampers and make day trips to Rohtang, Nagaur , Manikaran and of course Manali.
Our Place Himalayas is a great escape from the pressures of a city life. Wonderful place to unwind with family and friends. Children in particular get to explore nature at its pristine best.
Easily my favourite get away !

We stayed in a cottage at the Khullar Orchard and had a very memorable time. It was  very well maintained and totally self sufficient. Sitting in the verandah with a cup of hot tea taking in the fresh air and the breathtaking view was a delight. To add to this were the delicious meals we were served throughout the trip - from authentic himachali to a perfectly grilled trout.
Totally holistic experience. Would recommend it to all!

I live in Bombay, typical corporate life stuck in the rat race. After a very stressful annual review, i just wanted to get out and disconnect from the world..
On discussing with some friends, this place came up and and a few of us decided to go.
The place is very close to the highway, and while driving in i was just blown away by the place.
There is a small stream running through the driveway with dense trees all around. We were warmly greeted by the hosts and we checked into our beautiful cottages and ate a local meal with the hosts.
The cottages are very tastefully done and clearly visible that the hosts have spent a lot of time doing them up. They have all the facilities that you need and are very clean. Its a cottage, so if you're expecting the Four Seasons, go somewhere else.
The property is gorgeous with apple and kiwi orchards and the view has mountains all around.
Manali is 45 minutes away if you want to do some shopping or go the the Hadimba temple.

The hosts are very warm and hospitable. They genuinely make a lot of effort and spoil you in ways you just cannot imagine.

We spent a lot of time eating, walking through the orchards, along the banks of the river, reading, plucking fruit from the orchards, meeting the locals and just relaxing.
This is a great place for couples, families or a bunch of friends. After this experience, ill never go stay in hotel or resort in the mountains.
We spent 5 days here and when the time came to leave, the feeling of my childhood came when vacations ended and i never wanted to go back to boarding school. The hosts are now part of our family and i going back here at least once a year..

Don't forget to do some or all of this:
-Switch off your cellphone
-Ask the host to show you the orchard walk trail
-Eat a local meal - The dal is to die for
-Go fishing
-There is a great spot for a picnic right behind this place where the river beas flows

We have been coming here since 2009, every experience has been better than the previous one. The Baked Himalayan Trout is the most amazing trout i have ever had and set the bench mark for baked fish. Perfect place and price for bikers.
