Himgiri Nature Retreat
Reviewed 5 January 2014

a nice and comfortable stay in perfect lap of nature with your family and friends, what else you ask for in life. we visited on 3rd to 5th jan 2014 to this exotic placer. it was our 2nd trip to this place. the layout of the resorts is perfect with all the options of staying either in Swiss tents or hut or deluxe rooms. rooms are well maintained and warm. best part is courteous and pleasant staff who are always to help. the food is homely and their are lot of games and activities u can do. they arranged for a nice bonfire also. special thanks to Mr Sunil the manager and Mr. Sanjeev the caretaker. the last part of the road is bit bumpy (around 115 km from Chandigarh). u may say that the rooms are slightly higher priced but once u stay there definitely it is much more than the worth.simply an unforgettable stay.

Room Tip: the deluxe rooms are better than the huts. and if u can spend then go for the suite no. 101

Just had a lovely Vacation in Himgiri Nature Retreat from 7th June to 9th June 2013. its a paradise. I was planning a vacation for a long time to run away from Delhi's heat, traffic, chaos. It was my second visit to Himgiri Nature Retreat (first visit was in 2012). So shorlisted himgiri. I directly called up General Yadava (owner of Himgiri retreat). He is such a gentleman & awesome person. He gave us a good discount without being asked by us. It was a real suprise. He called me up (from Delhi, he stays in Delhi) everyday during the stay in the resort to see that we are having a good time and asked about feedback and how he can make the vacation more lovely. I have never seen such customer care from any resort and that too from the owner himself. Such a lovely gesture.

The resort is lovely. 80% of the resort area is open, full of greenery. Literally it is a "Nature Retreat". Full of pine tress, fruit Trees full of fruits. The landscape is designed wonderfully. they also have a small private zoo. there are rabitts, patridges, Goose. my son loved them. They too have a couple of dogs, "Pasha" was my son's favourite. They have lots of games - rifle shooting, croquet, archery (it was out of order), badminton, cricket, rappling, darts, volleyball, carrom or going for natural trail or just relaxing over umpteen rounds of tea and coffee.

We stayed in Rooms. They are actually luxurious, they too have a bathtub in each bathroom. the view from the rooms are exotic. We stayed in room 104 & 105. The resort also had a library with lots of books. You can have a sip of tea by the window (on the dge of a cliff) and read your favourite novels.

Food is mouth watering. There is no fixed menu. Food is cooked as per guest's choice.

The staff is great. Sunil the manager is really courteous, friendly and very helpful. Always ready to help. He also suggested us places to visit nearby and gave us very useful tips on road and what to do. my favourite among staff was Sanjeev who actually was with us like a personal butler. Anything you need you call him, he will be beside you within seconds. Any thing you ask, he will help you and the service speed was within couple of minutes.

The only disadvantage is the distance of the resort from Delhi. Its 400km from Delhi. Takes about 11 hours. But as all say "No Pain No Gain"

Overall Highlights of the trip:-
1. Wonderfull weather
2. Great Nature wrapped Resort
3. Moderate pricing (we got the deal at rs.2000/person/day)
4. Wonderfull Customer care (thanks to General Yadava)
5. unbelievable helpfull staff.
6. Great Service
7. comfortable rooms.
8. Great view from the rooms.
9. A wonderful waterfall just 6 km from the resort.
10. Full of orchards.

This place is highly recommended for those who enjoys peace , luxury and adventure all at the same time. The serine views, crispy air, clouds following you till your bed are just a kind of experience which is beyond words. My review looks like a advertisement but I was so happy and content by going to this resort that i want others to do that as well and get blissed.

P.S - Its a genuine review.

Room Tip: Any room from Room 101 to Room 105. If you have anyone in the group who has problems climbing stairs...

first visit to this place. excellent hospitality, amazing views, delicious food (tailormade), overall a great experience, even my 3 year old did not want to come back. As we arrived late in the evening after a 5 hour long tiring journey, they made a special khichri for the kids , the dinner was simple but awesome. The rooms had all basic amenities, we took the ground floor rooms, they had a small private lawn outside with a swing, a library across. The kids had a great time with the swing, the library books, the trampoline, the patridges? and the goose, two newborn baby rabbits. The first floor rooms should be avoided if you are going with young kids as the space outside the rooms is limited and the railings are not very safe. The view could have been better with the higher floors. We went for short treks on our own. Though it did not snow, we could find plenty of snow on the hills adjacent to the roads, it was plenty enough to make snowmen and play with snowballs.Overall perfect place for a two day break or longer if reading and trekking is all you want to do. A delay in room service is overshadowed by the taste of the fresh food they serve, order an hour in advance.

Room Tip: higher floor rooms for a better view, ground floor if you have elders or young kids around.

this was our first visit to the place. so were little perplexed how this is going to be.but the place is very good cool calm and with beautiful views of nature all around.excellent hospitality, rooms are good, food was very good.had been to treking with satpal who made this a wonderful experience.
kids enjoyed indoor activities and games.all had the fun of rapling.place has a wonderful collection of books.sunil took care of our stay very well. special thanks to Gen. Yadav who was kind enough to know about our stay and made sure everything was in place.
some more bright lights can add to beauty in night though defused lighting was excellent. some more good arrangement for barbeque along bonfire. A big screen in booksroom in case you want to watch some movie, attached with play station for games for kids. lastly nice place for those who want to enjoy the blend of comfort luxury adventure together.

Hi Friends, I visited this resort coincidentally, but believe you all me, The views out there just mesmerized me and forced me to change the itinerary of my group, for whom I was doing the reiki. But friends, this place is highly recommended for those who enjoys peace , luxury and adventure all at the same time. The serine views, crispy air, clouds following you till your bed are just a kind of experience which is beyond words. Staff is extremely courteous, especially we were hosted by General Sahab who also is the owner of the property.
After this we went to Shimla and believe you me, we hated it the most....as no other view could replicate the views from Himgiri.

Room Tip: Take Suite 101, one of the best views of life time from the balcony

It was our second visit to this place. but this time weather was not that perfect. Thankfully all rooms are equipped with fan. The food was ok. There are not many options to select. But we really cherished hot tea with pakoras in the lawns. There are activities for kids like badminton n cricket. The staff is friendly and courteous.

Stayed here with another trekking friend in January to climb Churdhar peak. From the moment we arrived the warmth and hospitality shown to us were excellent. A great guide named Satpal helped us on the mountain trek, we made it to Tisri but no further due to the amount of snow and lack of time! Although the menu was limited due to it being January, the food was very nice. Only downside was that the bathrooms were cold, and the towels smelt a bit mouldy. Would definitely stay there again.
