Having won a overnight stay at the cottage, we wondered what was in store for us and being fairly local to us, if it could be as good as we hoped it would be. The drive up the winding lane gives nothing away, and they you see the farmhouse up above you. Pulling up outside, it looks really appealing and, once you're inside, it certainly does have the WOW factor.
Entry to the cottage is either from the front or, as we did, through the side door into the large and extremely well equipped kitchen/diner. We both felt it was as good as anywhere we'd stayed and in most respects, better. My wife said, she felt she could cook a full Sunday roast with everything available to us; a well laid out and well equipped kitchen/diner.
Walking through to the lounge, it is a cosy and very comfortable room - very nice. Venturing upstairs, we found a large and well equipped bathroom and, either side of this, large bedrooms - both able to cater for three person (double or king size, and a single bed in each). We both said, the matress was extremely comfortable and we both slept very well.
We opted for the full English breakfast whcih arrrived promptly at 08:00, and was delivered to our own kitchen: choice of cereals, bread to toast, and a good cooked breakfast.
We'd like to thank Chris Thomas and her daughters for making our stay so good, and know we are considering a return but with our grandchildren next time. With the stables on site, and in a great location, we know there's more than enough to keep us occupied.
