Craven Garth Is a beautiful dog friendly holiday home in a perfect location.
Beautiful walks in and around Thornton Le Dale with historical towns and cities less than 30 mins by car it is definitely a place to recommend and I will definitely return in the future.

We stayed at Craven Garth for a week in early March. The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of layout, size and facilities. We were a party of 2 adults and 2 small dogs. As the weather wasn't brilliant having a utility room was great. The garden was totally secure dog friendly. The cottage was centrally located and at same time totally secluded. Pubs, restaurats and coffee shops just a short walk. We ate at The Brandy Snap Bistro, the New Inn and The Buck and would recommend them all. Craven Garth is well positioned for days out. We visited Whitby, Robins Hood Bay, York, Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, Goathland and Staithes all within an hour's drive. Unfortunately we had to amend our booking close to the date of our stay and James the owner was very accommodating. James was also very helpful during the booking stage and replied to any questions very quickly. We would happily stay here again. Thank you James!

The property was super clean on arrival and extremely well equipped. The bathroom was well fitted and the shower excellent. A poor shower is never a good start to the day. The bed was large and comfortable. The kitchen has plenty of storage and the dishwasher a bonus...who wants to wash dishes on holiday?
The utility room, at the entrance to the property, allows you to dry dog's feet/bodies before they are allowed into the main house. This obviously works very well as there wasn't any evidence of previous dogs in the property. It was completely hair and grime free. Quite hard to achieve in reality and testament to the cleaners.

Outside there's a secluded, enclosed, dog friendly garden and ample parking for two cars. The village is delightful with shops, and cafes, and walks along the river. Just a superb location.

James, the owner, always replied to messages very quickly and we felt confident that, had we had any issues (which we didn't), he would have been available.

Access was via a key safe...which meant we could arrive and depart at our leisure and not have to worry about keeping anyone waiting...why don't more holiday lets do this? It makes such sense.

We had a perfect break (something rare to be honest) and would highly recommend the property to anyone...but especially dog owners. Daisy dog had a great time!

“Perfect, relaxing break”
Reviewed 5 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017

This was our second visit to Craven Garth and we have thoroughly enjoyed both stays. The cottage has everything we need for a lovely, quiet, relaxing break. It is in a peaceful location but only a short walk away from the centre of Thornton Le Dale, one of our favourite places. There was a generous welcome pack waiting for us on arrival and the cottage was immaculately presented. As dog owners, the enclosed garden was a must for us and we enjoyed exploring many beautiful local walks. We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

A lovely property- very clean and modern and cosy. In a private location at the end of a lane but within a few moments walk of the village centre, shop & the pub ( which is lovely).

There is a nice circular walk around the top of the village from the doorstep. The surrounding countryside and coastline was fantastic and we totally fell in love with North Yorkshire.

Highly recommend this property and area

Great location to the heart of Thornton le Dale and the Malton Rally, hidden away down a track was this cottage in a quiet and private area, well thought out and had everything we needed, it was extremely cold when we stayed, we thought the main bed room was really cold at night but the rest of the cottage was toasty warm, great place and our dog enjoyed the garden.
