If you are looking for comfortable, well-equipped, individual rooms with lovely views over entirely peaceful scenery, simple but tasty food, helpful hosts, and a pretty naturally filtered pool, this is the place for you. The hosts could not have been more helpful, both in terms of local information, little extras and assistance when one of our party had an accident out walking. The rooms had individual touches and were spotlessly clean. And the views are so peaceful.....

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor or above have excellent views, but you can always see the views from the di...

Nothing bad to say about this place. Nice spacious apartment and balcony with great view to relax in the evenings! The hostess was very friendly and supplied us with information about the area and the nicest walking routes. We walked from Pitres through different small typical villages to Busquistar, a hike I recommend. The breakfast was simple, but nice and included in the price. Nice to have a kitchen, so we could enjoy our own food on the balcony in the evenings. There is also a washing machine in the apartment.
A lovely place to stay for a couple of days to walk in the surroundings!

Pitres is a fine base to explore the southern flank of the Sierra Nevada. The town is quite small and quiet, but it is close to several of the best hiking trails on the south side of the range. Our room was actually an apartment, with a small but quite adequate kitchen and a washing machine (the importance of this last item should not be underestimated). Although La Oveja Verde is on the main road through town, it is very quiet, because 1) there is not much traffic on this road, especially at night, and 2) the rooms are below the level of the road, and face away from it. My only reservation is that the breakfasts are inadequate if you are planning on hiking; you should plan on either supplementing or replacing the offered breakfast with food you buy at the store (there is a very good grocery store in town).

A group of friends average age mid fifties arranged a few days hillwalking based here. I had stayed for a weekend with spanish friends previously. I organised the guide who in turn arranged the minibus which met us at Malaga airport. We had a fantastic couple of days hillwalking and were thrilled with the accomodation and the welcome we received. We found the accomodation very comfortable and very tastefully decorated. All of the appartments gave out to the garden with magnificent views across the valley. We returned every evening exhausted and slept like logs. Our hosts could not have been more helpful or obliging particularly in relation to a lost bag at malaga airport which was found and delivered at very reasonable cost. All our fault of course. Others staying at the same time had bikes with them. They also sold books and maps there and had a selection of free tourist leaflets and information. We all felt that it was very good value and are looking forward to a return vist.

The apartments have their own web page http://www.laovejaverde.es The place is very new (2 years) but with that old charming architecture of the area. The apartments are very nicely taken care of and are big, comfortable and nicely decorated. We highly recommended the place. It is located in Pitres a tiny village in the Alpujarras. Its very quiet and the views are wonderful. The village is walking distance and has a couple of restaurants, bars and a supermarket. The staff were friendly.
