“No words quite describe how marvellous our stay was!”

We spent 5 days in nuevespigas with 11 girls for a hen party! The villa and surroundings were breathtaking, a real lucky to be alive type thing!
Even in October the weather was beautiful!!
The villa was outstanding with beautiful bedrooms living space and outside terraces and swimming pool! The space provided is more than enough!
Even the drive up was exciting!!!
The kitchen was top of the range with all you need to cook up a fantastic meal!!
We cooked breakfast lunch and dinner every day and mainly stayed in the villa for the duration!
The town of casarabonela is just down the hill and is a beautiful little town with so much character! And although we didn't venture out much I can assure you there is plenty to see and do around the area!!!

The pool area was stunning as was the terrace where we enjoyed our lunch most days with a view I can only describe as out of this world!!! There were little chairs/swings dotted around the outside of the villa that offered great viewpoints as well!!!
The service we received was above and beyond and frank and his family were only a phone call away if we needed anything! We were greeted upon arrival and given a farewell on departure!

We will definitely be returning here for another holiday in the near future!!
No review could quite give this place the respect it deserves!!!
Thank you for a spectacular stay

“We love this place!!”

Neuvespigas.... This was our second visit in a big family group (18) made up of babies, children, aunts, uncles, mums, dads, grannies and granddads. We LOVE it here. It is a lovingly decorated, comfortable place to stay. The rooms are all beautiful and with your own bathroom.....so no silent resentment that another couple/family has a better room than you! The pool/sun beds etc are lovely but just need to be kept an eye on to make sure they stay that way (we'd have killed for a drinks fridge!). In terms of catering - the shopping for a big group is pretty relentless(!) there is a reasonable supermarket a short drive away and huge supermarkets about half an hour away. The kitchen is equipped to a hotel standard - so it's easy enough to have a good few of you preparing food and the second team clearing up! We had a good few fun bbqs! In terms of location - the setting and views are fabulous - but this means that it is quite isolated and transport is a must (the hill leading up to the villa is hair-raising at first - but trust me - you get used to it!). Casarabonela is a nice little town - but we didn't really want to get out in the evenings - when there is a such a big group in such a nice place - you don't really need to! The property rental isn't cheap - but we reckon for two of us - inc flights, chipping in for car hire, shopping - so everything basically - we reckon it was about 1500 quid. Not bad for a lovely place, with lovely people (who you can shout at in the pool if they are getting on your nerves! Try doing that in a hotel!). So go there - it's great!

“A Spectacular Vacation”
Reviewed 22 October 2012 for a stay in October 2012

I organized a group of friends and family to come with us to Andalusia Spain. After much research I chose Nuevespigas. We could not have been more pleased. The rooms are extremely comfortable. There are all kinds of areas and spaces to stretch out and enjoy the spectacular views. Almost every day we were on the patio that leads out from the dining room eating breakfast or dinner enjoying the spectacular view of the town of Casarabonela across the valley. The kitchen is spectacular with far, far better equipment and tools than one usually finds in a rental. It is a place that gives pleasure just by being in it.

My only complaints relate to finding it. The signage hasn't been changed to the new name and all of us (four separate groups) got lost trying to find it. Also one of the dirt roads leading up to it is very rutted and is quite a challenge to ascend which causes concern if your are renting the car. But having rented in other country locations in Europe, I understand that this is not out of the norm.

There are very few places I've rented that give this much pleasure just being in it.

“Fantastic for large groups of friends”
Reviewed 13 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We were 9 adults and 8 children (aged 6 and under) and had a fantastic holiday at Nuevespigas, formerly Villa La Era. There was plenty of space and the rooms are extremely well appointed. Communal areas were good, particularly a large kitchen with huge refrigerator, and a laundry (useful for families with children). We made good use of the barbecue (charcoal and gas) and ate every meal outdoors - either on the patio at the front of the house, or (in the evening) on the veranda at the back, with views over the town, enjoying the last of the day's sunshine. The property enjoys spectacular views over the town of Casarabonela, a typical Moorish town of white washed buildings. It is up a very steep hill and ammenities are not within walking distance. The owners were very helpful in planning our holiday and making arrangements before we travelled. It was easy to hire baby equipment that was delivered to, and collected from, the property. We have been on a number of large group holidays with families, to villas in France, Spain and Italy. Nuevespigas was easy the best we have chosen so far, and we felt the cost was extremely reasonable given the quality we found. Many thanks to Andy and Frank. We would love to visit again!
