“Great location”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

This is a lovely little place, off the beaten track, with easy access to coast walks and beaches. Luis and the staff are all friendly and helpful, the garden is pretty and peaceful with views of the mountains. Poo itself is a little oasis between the busier tourist locations of Llanes and Celoriu, but big enought to offer a great local restaurant and bar so you won't need to drive out for supper. The hotel is well signed from the road adjacent to Poo's little railway station. If you didn't have your own transport you could arrive there by train and have a great holiday without needing to drive anywhere.

My wife and I came across this small hotel whilst searching trip advisor.
We were planning a motorcycle trip and wanted something a little quiet but not too far away from a town for 2 nights.
This hotel is a little gem.
Luis and Jorge went out of their way to make us welcome.
The room was very good, being reasonably quiet (you can hear some noise from the occupants next door to you but we had no problem. No noise from outside), comfortable and clean.
Breakfast was adequate and served in a lovely setting.
There are 2 small bars in the village serving food. We plumped for the bar next to the railway line. We weren't disappointed. (Can't remember the name of it, sorry) Portions are massive, so beware if planning starter plus main. The red Ochagavia wine at €6 a bottle was fantastic.

The town of Llanes is a 5 - 10 minute drive or a 30 -45 minute walk along the coast. We advise to take the walk, it's great.

There's a small beach within 10 minutes walk that looked very inviting. We didn't have time but if beaches are your thing I would say worth a try.

All in all a great little hotel.

Great start to our holiday in Asturias, I visited with my grown-up son. This is a lovely hotel, spotlessly clean and tidy and couldn't be more friendly.

There are a couple of great bars a few minutes walk ideal for tasting the local food and Sidra.

Luis (the owner) speaks very good English and spent lots of time to explain about some of the best places to visit in the area, his advice certainly helped us make the most of our short visit to Asturias. In short starting our holiday here was a 'Brilliant introduction to the area'... I'd highly recommend it.

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely hotel. The owner Luis could not have made us more welcome. He told us where best to explore the beautiful Picos de Europa and where the best beaches were (Playa Torimbia - incredible). They also have the most gorgeous dog called Kenny who stole my heart! Rooms were fairly basic but a good size, comfortable and clean and great value for money. Breakfast wasn't huge but perfectly adequate and always served with a smile. It also left more room for tapas later! We also took a tour of the cider orchard and press which included cider tasting and food and was very memorable. We would love to go back and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of Spain.

We stayed at this hotel on the first overnight stop on a 10 day tour of Spain and what a wonderful choice it proved to be. It's useful to use Google maps to locate the hotel before setting off as it is not easily found by SatNav. Our room was just a little bit on the small side but was perfectly adequate. The hotel is in a lovely rural setting and we woke up to the sound of a cowbell (or it might have been a goat bell!). Truly idyllic. We met Luis at breakfast and he was welcoming, enthusiastic and charming. There was a limited choice for breakfast but it was adequate for out needs and it was lovely to sit on the terrace overlooking the small orchard that provides apples for the cider (it's not cider, it's sidra!!) If you want a lovely hotel in a quite rural location then you will certainly be very happy here.

If we had known how good this hotel was we would have stayed for more than one night. Luis is made for his job on reception, very helpful, very pleasant and full of local knowledge a true enthusiast for all thing Asturian. The rooms and bathroom were spotless, breakfast included in the reasonable price.
It is a bit tricky to find.
When you enter Poo from Llanes turn left at the restaurant and turn left straight away follow the road between the restaurant and cafe, go over the rail line, turn right at the craft centre follow the road past the church on the left, keep left and hopefully you have found it.

Beach, mountains, food and cider all within earshot, mouth shot, and eye shot. After travelling around Europe for 3 years this is one of the places I will never forget.

The hotel itself is friendly, interesting and warm, with a spectacular outlook. And the tiny lanes leading down to the beautiful beach make you feel like you have left all the modern hoo ha behind and all that's left is bliss.

Nothing better than standing around on the orchard sipping asturian cider after a good surf and some fabada asturiana for lunch.

Luis is a great host and knows the area so well he can point you in the right direction for whatever it is you're after. But most of it isn't far away... And if it is, you're probably better off back in the schity.

Muy bien, gracias. un abrazo. Bravo.
