“Decent hotel, but need more towels in the room.”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

We just stayed for a night in Kebun Villa (room angsana 5) with a private pool. Room is great, clean enough. But, you would think a nice place like this (not cheap), would provide more towels (since it is a pool villa), some decent shampoo and shower gel. But, they don't.

Staffs are friendly, food are not too bad too.

I would try some place else if i go back again.

Dear Okla,

We are terribly sorry that a lack of towels in your villa tainted an otherwise, decent stay with us. It is an unusual complaint as we have not received a comment on the lack of towels from any of our guests in the past. However, we do recognize it as a form of constructive criticism and will most certainly consider it in enhancing The Kebun Experience overall.

Regards,

We stayed at Kebun for 7 nights from the 7th to 14th August.

Check in was quick and easy with welcome drinks provided.

For the first two nights we stayed on the second floor in a Dhalia room which was clean and spacious, and with an amazing view over the pool and mountains. The room was very comfortable and we did not have any issues with the shower overflowing or hot water. I think it may only be an issue if you like long, long showers. The air con is fairly loud but did not bother us as it was icy cold.

For the next 5 nights we stayed in a one bedroom villa, Angsana, which was absolute heaven. It is made up of two parts, the lounge, dining and study desk (bar fridge/kettle/glasses etc) and the beautiful court yard and large private pool connects to the bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. Everything was very large including the bath that could accommodate me laying full length!

We felt very spoilt in the luxurious surroundings with our own private piece of paradise. Breakfast (that is huge) served in the villa if requested, was another special touch.

The room service was always very quick and every dish we ordered was well priced and very tasty, and the staff who delivered were always very lovely.

All the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.

The only area we think could be improved was breakfast. There were a fair amount of choices with cereal, toast, pastries, fruit and rice or bacon or noodles or pancakes etc and an egg station, however the pastries were not the usual soft fresh ones we were used to from Bali and the heated dishes were not very warm. I stayed with the toast and omelettes though which were very fresh and tasty.

We would definitely return to Kebun and thank Dani and all staff for such a wonderful stay.

If you can afford the little extra it costs for a villa then treat yourself but the rooms are just as enjoyable overlooking the pool!

Decent hotel with very helpful and friendly staffs. While taking me to my room, the staff explained the hotels features and services, including a 24 hours swimming pool. Some of my friends were sick on the arrival day, and the hotel staff had been hospitable, assisting their needs.

You can find several beaches nearby, but all the restaurant nearby taste too touristic.

Room Tip: I prefer the one with pool view on the ground floor, it feels nice to have a swimming fool at your d...

We stayed at Kebun for 3 nights in total. The staff were welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The location is fantastic being only a short stroll to the beach and the main strip with plenty of restaurants etc.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable and clean. We loved the view from the rooms too! Overlooking the 75mtr infinity pool into what seemed to be a tropical jungle. The beds were firm but comfortable.
Our only gripe with the rooms were: 1) the shower doesnt stay hot for long. Even though it is the tropics its still nice to have a hot shower (or at least warm) at the end of the day. The shower would stay warm for maybe 1 minute then go cold (tropical cold so still more than bareable); 2) the lock on our door was a bit dicky. But upon telling them about it they had it fixed very promptly which was good.
The breakfast was good, with a wide variety of food available via the buffet as well as an omelette station.

Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Very convenient hotel, right in front of Sheraton Senggigi Hotel. 1 minutes walk to beach and 2 minutes walk to restaurants or supermarkets nearby, also art market. The hotel and surrounding is not too crowded and very peaceful. The 75 meters pool is the highlight of the hotel you can try it. Breakfast though not too many variant of food but it's okay and tasty. I book Seroja Twin Room via booking.com with very reasonable price, the room is very clean and comfortable from the balcony you can look at the swimming pool and surrounding also some villas, the air is very clean & refreshing and a bit of windy. Too bad that the bathroom is always wet as no drape for the shower. If you are not in a hurry to the airport you can take a bus which is available in the area. You just have to pay Rp. 25.000,- and it takes about an half an hour to reach BIL.

Hi Feny,

Your 4-star review has been very flattering. We are particularly happy to read that you appreciated the location and facilities of our Garden Home.

Regarding the bathroom issue, we are very sorry about the wetness due to the lack of a drape and we hope that this issue hadn't hindered the experience of your trip too much.

To address the lack of variance in our Breakfast Buffet, we are in midst of working with our master chef and F&B manager to do a major re-haul. Watch out for it during your next visit with us!

All in all, we are happy that you had a great stay with us and will look forward to having you over at our Garden Home in the near future.

Cheers!

Kebun Hotel offers clean tidy rooms and great location to mainstream Sengiggi and its beautiful beaches. However there is no hotel or local information in the rooms and the staff seemed unable to provide us with any information about anything we asked for, we had to seek info ourselves via google or the locals. We had a room leading straight out to the 75m infinity pool. There were many steps around the hotel, all of different levels and depths, it would make very difficult going for anyone with a disability. All housekeeping services were efficient. The prices at the hotel restaurant were considerably more than just down the street at the local establishments. (The restaurants on the beachfront were sensational, and The Taman (?) on the main road was awesome) Happy Cafe provided great cocktail prices and easy listening local bluesy music.

Dear Suebez,

It is unfortunate that our Front Office personnel were unable to provide you with the level of service expected of a 4-5 star hotel. What happened with your case was that the senior staff on duty was away from his post at the time to attend to another matter and you were left with juniors and trainees to attend to your questions. This is highly inexcusable and should not happen. We have looked into the matter very seriously and we can safely say that our Front Office staff have been sufficiently trained to avoid this sort of service lapse in the future.

We hope this had not hindered your vacation to Lombok too much and hope to host you again during your next trip here.

Cheers!

Being an avid traveller myself, I love it when a place surprises me.. . and Kebun did that with its quiet charm and tranquility. It had a pristine quality, unlike that of commercialised resorts, and that won me over immediately.

Stepping in, we were ushered to a private villa of our own, complete with a private pool and spacious high ceiling rooms. I also liked how serene everything was, with the lush foliage adding a nice touch of nature.

With me falling in love with the place already, little did I know that I was in for the biggest surprise of my life yet!

It turned out that my then boyfriend had planned to propose to me during this trip and the resort staff did a fantastic job in helping him out... resulting in a huge success that left me in happy tears :')

From a romantic candle lit dinner by the pool strewn with fresh flower petals to 99 roses and wine, there was nothing more for me to ask for ;)

I highly recommend this resort for an idyllic get away and be sure to get the in- room breakfast as well! You can snorkel in the clear blue waters of Lombok and soak up the sun or go island hopping. Our stay was too short and we will definitely be back for the delicious "panggang" (grilled) seafood and waterfalls!

Ps. For more details, do refer to the write up by my fiance (ahaugs) below! ;)
