Positives
Friendly welcome
Great menu choice
4 of us had the roast beef and 1 pork belly - all delciious as was the bread and the desserts, particular mention to the honey and pistachio cheesecake, heavenly!
Service was attentive enough without being intrusive and the staff were all very friendly
Whole place was clean and ambient temperature

Negatives
Only a small one and reason not a 5 star review -we were asked how we wanted the meat cooking for the beef but the servers did not mention whose was whose when it came out until the last one by which time we assumed the right people had been given the right meal and some people had started eating
bit more attention to people wanting more drinks would be nice too but not a big issue

overall well worth the drive from notts and we will definitely be returning with friends

Always welcoming and consistently excellent food. Classy beer and wine selection. Fish is always on the menu and scallops never let you down. Nice touch with mini puddings available too.

We had spent the weekend at Beech House and eaten at the Olive Branch, the Red Lion Inns sister restaurant. The place was very busy, but we received good service and the food was well presented and tasty. It was obvious having been to both that there is a relationship between the two restaurants. Good to go to a traditional pub and get good food which is well above the usual 'pub grub'.

No ordinary Pub dining for sure-fantastic food and excellent service-attention to detail given to every dish we ordered-even my 3 year old behaved herself as she was immersed in enjoying her excellent fish and chips. My Mrs who is a vegetarian and usually struggles to get a decent meal when we are in the coutryside , declared that her gnocchi was "the best" she has had ever had. The honey and seeded bread was also to die for.

Brilliant meal from start to finish. Very lively Christmassy pub with a lovely festive atmosphere. Despite being busy, the service was excellent. One look at the menu made me want everything so some serious decision making was needed. The Cropwell Bishop pannacotta starter was a stroke of genius. My short rib of beef was so tender the meat fell off the bone and my cappuccino mousse dessert was perfection. Prices reflect the quality of the food but still amount to good value.
