Stayed one night on our way back to France. Expected a charming old castle not a concrete repro on the edge of a very busy National highway. Our gloomy room reeked of tobacco and were offered the choice of at least 5 others which all smelled the same. The view from the balcony was of a huge truck stop and restaurant on the other side of the road. the nightmare continued when we asked for a table in the restaurant only to hear it was closed on Sundays! Took a drive around and found nothing so risked life and limb to cross the major highway to join the truckers for dinner which in fact was not bad. After a sleepless night battling with door closed and bad smell or door open and the soothing sound of lorries hurtling along at 90 Kms!
Despite all we were looking forward to the inclusive buffet breakfast but oh no, we were ordered to sit on stools at the bar and given coffee and croissant. We then spotted the chef and promptly asked for egg and bacon which was freshly cooked and delicious
Disturbing the receptionist from playing Candy Crush, we did complain about room only to be told they had a big wedding the day before and everyone smoked in the no smoking rooms.
To sum up, as I stand on my balcony among the cigarette ends watching the lorry drivers fill their flasks, am I being unfair to the hotel or could I possibly have been stupid enough to book this!!
Don't make the same mistake as there are many wonderful hotels in Spain for less than the 80 Euros we paid

We were looking for a Hotel with charm as a stop over. On the the web site it looked like this place would fit the bill. However located on a highway with lots of trucks, our room faced the road and the double glazed window would not close to keep the noise out. The air conditioner did not work so the room was very hot. At breakfast the other 2 guests had the same issues. The WiFi would only work in reception. On a lighter note the staff were nice and the lunch of the day was okay. If you plan to stay last minute ask for a room at the back with a working aircon.

Our SatNav took us up a pot-holed lane through some seedy looking properties on our approach to the hotel only to discover it was adjoining a major highway with heavy lorry traffic.
The mock medieval interior design was in fact well conceived and quite welcoming. The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We were given a room that reeked of tobacco smoke but in fairness were quickly offered a non smoking alternative.
The rooms, though small, were well appointed and comfortable. No complaints here.
As tourists we were dissapointed to discover that dinner was not served till 9.30 pm. We decided to have a few snacks in the bar until the Dining Room opened. We appear to have been served by the same lady mentioned in another review. There was an error in the order and when queried she threw a "wobbler" and became quite petulant.
Dinner itself was good value though the fish was overcooked. This was pointed out to the waitress who did offer to serve us an alternative meal.
The self service breakfast was good value being included in rhe room rate. It was unfortunate to have been woken by the dustmen at 4 am!
All in all, not a bad overnight stop. However, we decided to stay elsewhere on our return journey.

On the outside and inside looks like a concrete castle, presumably designed for the Spanish wedding market as all their advertising appears to be aimed at this target group. Rooms dark but comfortable and bathrooms very modern and not at all medieval. However the restaurant has an excellent menu, unfortunately my spanish was not good enough to do it justice, lots of fresh seafood and locally sourced meats. Food freshly prepared with generous portions, the suckling pig was very tender, tasty and filling. Excellent value at 60 euros a night for a double including a buffet breakfast. WiFi not working during our overnight stay.

Room Tip: Try and avoid the rooms facing the main road.

I have stayed here a couple of times and the rooms are comfortable. I stayed there 2 days ago and as your other reviewer mentioned, if there is no weddings, it is very economical. We where charged €60 for a double room including a buffet breakfast, great value. It is on the main road next to a petrol station, however the rooms are double glazed and each room has a small balcony. I try to aim for this hotel when I'm travelling to or from Murcia as I like the hotel. The drinks are reasonable priced and the staff are always friendly. It is a quirky place but I like it.

the building is worth a look even if you don't stay built like a castle about 6 years ago specialising in Spanish weddings with all the outward appearances of being old. Very economically priced during the week when no weddings are booked. comfortable room with good bathroom. Free Wifi available in public rooms and outside covered seating area.
we found the staff very helpful especially the waitress in the evening restaurant which was very economically priced 3 course menu del dia with wine.
You can see the hotel from the pay motorway but its about 2miles back from the motorway exit but worth the effort. Only 20 mins at max from the centre of Zarragoza.
Will definitely use again

Last April stayed 1 night with a group on 12. It really looks like a Castle both the outside and some areas inside as the lobby and halls. The rooms have also a singular furniture and decoration. Swords, shields and flags on the walls took us to a medieval scene. And regarding the PROS, that’s all. Could be a hot spot with different staff and a better restaurant. As the hotel is in the middle of nowhere we’d dinner at the hotel and that was our worst option. The food is expensive and doesn’t deserve the money. For instance we ordered Segovian Roasted Piglet and it was a JOKE compared with the authentic and I’ve eaten it several times! Regarding the restaurant staff we never saw some smile from the waiters or even a nice word. But the HELL was yet to come! By the end of the dinner a waiter asked us to pay at the bar as we were paying by card. We went there and were “welcomed” by the most rude and unfriendly lady I ever found in a hotel. Began a dispute with us about some drinks we had before dinner and according with her argumentation were not charged. And there she was yelling with us as if we were some ruffian. We never agreed with the missing drinks that she “forgot” to charge but asked her to include them in our dinner bill. Even so she proceeded with the discussion and still arguing with us. We’re talking of a 300 € dinner bill and 10 € concerning the missed drinks …! Couldn’t believe that this scene could be possible in a hotel! As in most hotels they had our credit card details at the reception so no one step away without paying. Unless that lady is the hotel owner she hasn’t conditions to work there.
