Nice place if you are fit. This place is quit nice. Great room with a fridge and spacious bathroom also a deck to take in the sunrise in our case.! The staff was helpful with any problems that came up. We had the A/C go out in the room at 8pm and they sent someone to repair right away. The hotel is really cool with a few draw backs. The stairs are crazy.! This place is built on the side of a mountain. And to walk into town or...back from you will be a sweaty mess no matter your physical condition.! We also need to say that this is a alcohol free hotel.! You can buy it in town and pack it back to the room but just know there will be no beer or cocktails at dinner.!

Yes, as mentioned in the other reviews there is a constant noise from the longtail boats. But that said, we got used to it quickly and it did not bother us.
The place is still wonderful: 15min walking distance from Railay village, so away from the crowds. The pool is nice and clean and the view from the pool and the bungalows is great. In the evenings, there were gibbons in the trees, and we even saw a hornbill.
Bungalows and bathrooms were clean and mosquito nets provided.
Restaurant was good as well, and there is a little private beach with hammocks as well.

Great view is the name for a reason, we booked a deluxe cottage and the view was just awesome overlooking the sea. It’s a really romantic place with and infinity pools not far from the crowded Railay but secluded enough of you want to hide away. I enjoyed the vibe, it’s in the jungle, if you’re lucky enough you’ll have the chance to see quite many of the wildlife, I loved the squirrels and the lizards!

We went with our family and we felt accessing our room was dangerous. Dark paths, uneven stairs, no hand rails on steep stairs to room! The incline to access most rooms is very steep. So steep that almost everyone we encounter said they avoid going to their room. Maybe if you get one of the three lower room it would be ok. If it were raining the hike from the dock would be treacherous as the path is right next to ocean and there is no rail. This hotel is at the very end of the beach, 750 meters, which means if you want to go have some cocktails you could kill yourself trying to walk the path and steep stairs. It would be much better if they were tradition stairs that are always equal in height and size. But some are short and steep other shallow and long. This is a great place if you want peace and isolation and are not fat and in excellent shape with no mobility issues, vision issues in low light.

We stayed 6 nights.

A little further to reach, two boats from Ao nang pier you can also take one boat to Railay west and walk the easy flat path 15 minutes.

Great View is the furthest resort from Railay west on a small peninsula. The walk to it is nice and easy. Outside the noisy long tail boat from 7 am till 6 pm passing regularly but not constantly the evenings and nights are quiet. The staff is very helpful, the breakfast’s choice is tremendous. The bungalows with views through the trees to the bay are built in such a way, modern and traditionally, they make you feel secured and give justice to the tropical environment, made of threaded bamboo and wood with occasional concrete and stucco for the bathroom and windows to the the balcony. The balcony is a real added value as you can sip your purchased drinks (from Railay’shop) peacefully at candle light in the night. The swimming pool is also great with its luxuriant forest and karstic summit view as a background.
