I have just read some of the negative reviews and I am shocked!! I do not agree at all.

We stayed at Rayavadee as part of our honeymoon trip and we booked the honeymoon package which was superb! There were loads of added extras like a cookery class, private dining, spa treatments etc.

The hotel is in a tropical marine park so there are lots of exotic animals around.

The staff are incredibly friendly and everyone is very helpful. I highly recommend everybody
visiting Thailand spend a few days here. You won't be disappointed.

Loved the property and service levels were excellent. Could not get enough of the welcome drink

i was there for a business trip. i've heard much about the hotel. the eyes do more than the ears.

rayavadee is an excellent choice to recuperate / lay down privately. you're not gonna get any party-animal themes there because all the connected beaches are privately owned and there's no road to the main land either. also, if you fancy outdoor activities like water sports, cliff hiking, snorkeling, etc, it's just the right place to be. i'm not a big fan of water sports, but they offered alternatives like a fully equipped gym and 2 tennis courts with all sorts of gear available to borrow.

upon checking in you'll also be briefed about how you'll witness many sorts of local wildlife which resembles one of the hotel's signatures. the landscape is being consistently nurtured in harmony with all sorts of creatures.

overall, it's like entering an all-in-one facilities with an exceptional touch of luxury. you get there, the cheapest room comes in form of 2 floor-cottage and it's much better than ordinary suite in town. you dine in for most of your meals. the food is tasty. lay your back. swim. get the fresh air, the sea, the sun. it's quite a perfect hideaway from city mess and get yourself fully recharged.

Dear Chasetti,

Thank you for your kind review of your recent stay at Rayavadee. It was very nice to read your comments and to know you were able to relax, switch off and re-charge with us. It is true that the resort's natural setting us dramatic and beautiful as we are situated on the edge of a national park. Just a small correction to your comments. Our beaches are not private but part of national park land. There are no private beaches in all of Thailand.

We are really glad to know you enjoyed the facilities and accommodation as well. Please come back and visit us again sometime soon.

Kind regards,

Claudine

Everything about the Rayavadee is 7 stars except the price. Definitely a life style decision but well worth it. Our mini bar in room had complimentary beer, candy bars and soft drinks. They now charge for transportation between Krabi
Airport and resort. $100 USD RT.

Beautiful and superlative as always. We shall return.

A huge resort with a lovely relaxed feel, the rooms are little villas that don't disturb the jungle and cliffs surrounding the resort. The whole setting is picturesque and you can walk to two beautiful beaches and lounge around by the pool or on the beach front.

We had an individualised romantic dinner in the grotto (a restaurant area in a cave!), and couldnt believe the delicious quality of the food. The Thai food at this resort is also delicious. If you want a break from the resort food and drinks you can buy refreshing drinks from the long boats that come up the beaches, there are also a couple of small tourist shops on the walking street (but its not a really intense walking street where they hassle you to buy stuff).

Things that rock about this place:
The staff are incredibly helpful !
You can see falmilies of monkeys playing and jumping through the trees!
The jetboat and shuttle service are excellent
The management are amazing at what they do
It truly is paradise on earth.

The reviews dont do this place justice, its something you have to see. This is for people wanting to completely unwind in a picturesque location. We'll be back.

We stayed at Rayavadee Resort for five nights at the end of our 2 weeks in Thailand and Cambodia.

This resort defines service and serenity.

Arrival: We arranged for airport pick up at KBV. Their air conditioned van was waiting for us upon arrival with cool towels and water. We drove to the pier (15 mins) and then boarded their speedboat (covered, very comfortable) for the trip to Railay Beach. It was dumping rain, but we never got wet as we were constantly escorted with umbrellas every step of the way.

It was "low tide" upon arrival so a little tractor came out to the boat to bring us ashore.

Check-in: More cool towels and welcome drink. No lines to stand in - sat in comfortable sofas while staff brought us our information/keys, etc.

Accomodation: We had two rooms (known as "Pavilions") since we were traveling with our two teens ages 16 and 19. From the outside, these Pavilions don't look like much, but inside are an oasis. Each is two stories high with plush outside seating. The ground floor was set up as a living area with very large/deep sofa, tv, mini bar (with many complimentary items), french press coffee, etc. The main floor also had a 1/2 bath/powder room.

Upstairs, we had a king sized bed, large bathroom with shower, soaking tub, jack and jill sinks and spa quality scrubs, lotions, etc. (MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT HERE WAS THE LACK OF LIGHTING AND NO MAGNIFYING MIRROR)

The bed was a little firm, but overall sleep quality with bedding/pillows, room darkening was superb.

There was two closets, two desks, and plenty of room to store luggage.

Grounds: This resort is HUGE. I think it is about 26 acres. There are two main walkways through the resort (the M1 and M2 "Main 1 and 2"." that meander through the resort. The grounds are very lush and well cared for, but not in an overly manicured way. Native plants are identified by small placards. This is NOT for someone who has trouble getting around or easily trips.

In addition to the amazing foliage, the native wildlife adds to the scene. Monkeys play on your roof (and sometimes steal your breakfast), butterflies play, birds sing and you might, as we did, accidentally trip on a juvenile Burmese Python.

Pool/Beaches: The resort's location has 3 beaches and one large infinity pool. We really liked our location near Railay Beach and the Pool. The Phranang Beach is much quieter, but boasts the activity center.

Restaurants: The buffet breakfast included each day was a work of art. Amazing array of fresh fruits, cereals, pastries, waffles - you name it + the option to order eggs, bacon, and asian entrees for no additional charge.

We LOVED the freshly muddled cocktails poolside - just wished we didn't have to constantly flag down the server.

The lunch and dinner menus are mostly Thai/Asian and were very good. We were traveling with a group and one night reserved "The Grotto" on Phranang Beach which was an amazing experience.

We did try a restaurant outside the resort one night and were sorely disappointed. Rayavadee is heads and shoulders above the surrounding resorts.

Activities: We participated in three activities during our stay. the first was a boat ride/snorkeling trip to Bamboo and Chicken Island. While pricey, compared to the travel agency down the beach which we sadly used for another outing, the experience was amazing start to finish. My husband and some of our friends took the 1pm Thai Cooking Class and loved that (included a beautiful cookbook) my recommendation is to do the later class and use that as your "dinner" as there was much to eat and lasted far longer than expected) We took the "Bat Cave" tour which was really cool with great photo ops (but you must be capable of scrambling up rocks) I also took out one of the kayaks (which was free).

Service: This was hands down one of the best service experiences I have ever had. The staff couldn't have been more kind or accommodating. One of our friends was traveling with their 2 and 7 year olds and one night at dinner one of the staff members voluntarily sat in the sand with the two year old and shoveled sand while dabbing her brow with a cool cloth - wow!

Final note: This is not really a great place to take teenagers. The high speed internet saved the day, but unless you have really bookish kids, you might find yourself frustrated.
