As part of our 10 day stay in Krabi with andaman avdentures, we decided to treat ourself on our last stop. The Rayavadee, while not cheap, is amazing. This resort is nestled on three beaches (yes, it is that big)! The food, albeit expensive, is fantastic. We hardly bothered to eat out as the food on Railay Beach is quite touristy and terrible, as we found out on the first day. But the beach is spectacular and Ao Nang beach, the main beach for fun and shopping is a mere 10 minute boat ride away. One thing to mention, watching the sunset in front of Rayavadee on Railaay Beach is just breathtaking and should be tried by everybody.

OK, I was a little skeptical at first about this hotel. To start with, the price was hugely higher than the other hotels on the list except the Ritz Carlton. Second, I was a bit torn between the Ritz and this one. A friend of none had stayed at the Ritz and recommended it but a lot of reviews even outside trip advisor suggested Rayavadee for the location.

I'll start with the only two negatives that I could think of:

1. There are three beaches around the hotel, all highly recommended, however none of them are swimmable during this off-peak season. Then again, I shouldn't complain since we went there knowing that it was the off peak season.

2. Just like a lot of reviews mentioned, the rooms need renovation, they are beginning to look a little tired. The Ritz Carlton definitely has better accommodations.

Positives:

Endless ..........
- Advantage of having a two storie hut all to your self designed to give one ultimate privacy
- Complimentary water, soft drinks, tea coffee, cookies, chocolates etc in the room
- Excellent service from the staff everywhere
- loved the walks around the resort but if you get tired, just ask for one of the many buggies for a ride
- The Spa was of the highest standards
- A wide range of restaurants with excellent food to choose from, our personal favourite was the Thai restaurant
- No need for a buffet breakfast, just order it from the menu o be served fresh on your table
- Loved the cave bar, just unique
- Comfort and luxury at its best

Could go on and on but you need to go there and experience it. Will definitely go back.

We stayed this weekend at the Rayavadee. It was beautiful and we had a wonderful time from start to finish. They pick you up on a speedboat (far nicer than other resorts where you have to get your own longtail boat and then have to walk through the water with your luggage), they give you drinks upon check in, and even if you stay in the least expensive villa, it is lovely. The service at the pool and umbrella court is perfect. The food was delicious. Most of all (and perhaps this is based on my mostly american experience), they offer you many complimentary perks - breakfast, complimentary snacks, drinks and beers in your room, towel service (you can take them on the beach). YES you can hear the boats coming in and out all day - but I think you'd be hard pressed to find somewhere on Railay where you can't. We also walked down the beach one night to the Flamingtree Restaurant and had a great meal. Overall, this was an amazing place to stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in a villa closer to to the pool area - but everywhere is convenient.

I have just read some of the negative reviews and I am shocked!! I do not agree at all.

We stayed at Rayavadee as part of our honeymoon trip and we booked the honeymoon package which was superb! There were loads of added extras like a cookery class, private dining, spa treatments etc.

The hotel is in a tropical marine park so there are lots of exotic animals around.

The staff are incredibly friendly and everyone is very helpful. I highly recommend everybody
visiting Thailand spend a few days here. You won't be disappointed.

i was there for a business trip. i've heard much about the hotel. the eyes do more than the ears.

rayavadee is an excellent choice to recuperate / lay down privately. you're not gonna get any party-animal themes there because all the connected beaches are privately owned and there's no road to the main land either. also, if you fancy outdoor activities like water sports, cliff hiking, snorkeling, etc, it's just the right place to be. i'm not a big fan of water sports, but they offered alternatives like a fully equipped gym and 2 tennis courts with all sorts of gear available to borrow.

upon checking in you'll also be briefed about how you'll witness many sorts of local wildlife which resembles one of the hotel's signatures. the landscape is being consistently nurtured in harmony with all sorts of creatures.

overall, it's like entering an all-in-one facilities with an exceptional touch of luxury. you get there, the cheapest room comes in form of 2 floor-cottage and it's much better than ordinary suite in town. you dine in for most of your meals. the food is tasty. lay your back. swim. get the fresh air, the sea, the sun. it's quite a perfect hideaway from city mess and get yourself fully recharged.

Dear Chasetti,

Thank you for your kind review of your recent stay at Rayavadee. It was very nice to read your comments and to know you were able to relax, switch off and re-charge with us. It is true that the resort's natural setting us dramatic and beautiful as we are situated on the edge of a national park. Just a small correction to your comments. Our beaches are not private but part of national park land. There are no private beaches in all of Thailand.

We are really glad to know you enjoyed the facilities and accommodation as well. Please come back and visit us again sometime soon.

Everything about the Rayavadee is 7 stars except the price. Definitely a life style decision but well worth it. Our mini bar in room had complimentary beer, candy bars and soft drinks. They now charge for transportation between Krabi
Airport and resort. $100 USD RT.

Beautiful and superlative as always. We shall return.
