Review of Rayavadee
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 May 2019
We enjoyed a wonderful few days here. Everything within the resort's control was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed the attentive but unobtrusive service. The prices in the Grotto restaurant were high - but the location was superb. The "room" we thought we had booked turned out to be a more like a little rondel or cottage - very nice and full of character! The only drawback about the place really was the very loud comings and goings of the long-tail boats ferrying other tourists to and from the beach. These anchored on the beach itself - and I wonder whether by negotiation, they could tie up to buoys a couple of hundred metres off shore?

Dear Colonel H,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with others of your recent stay at Rayavadee.

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time with us and you liked the Resort, our unique accommodation, as well as our friendly attentive staff.

Thank you for your constructive feedback on the longtail boats. As all beaches in Thailand are public, we cannot prohibit those who would like to visit from coming. We are in collaboration with the other hotels to come up with a beneficial solution for all parties. Hopefully the next time you visit there will be some changes.

Hope to welcome you back again in the not too distant future.

Take Care.

Perfect pick up by professional staff, whisked to resort launch which took about 20minutes. Met by Manager and staff on the beach as launch arrived, received a general run down of the resort which we could already see was stunning. Our Villa (double storey, circular downstairs in design) was so comfy big lay about lounges with all the trimmings and downstairs toilet. Upstairs large bed and very nice large bathroom with again everything you can want. It is very clean and all the staff at Rayavadee are extremely nice. The grounds are just beautiful very tropical with monkeys flying through the canopy, saw many butterflies and lizards. The villas are very very quite and separated a considerable distance from each other. The beach where the Thai Restaurant is really nice the whole area surrounded by limestone cliffs and view out to other Islands. The main beach where the resort pool is more busy and close by a small street where the locals have some small restaurants etc. if you wish to eat there. The breakfast is scrumptious even the pastries and large variety of great breads cooked daily. Everything is perfect and wait to you try their Cappuccino coffee with the cinnamon stick, its really good. Highly recommend for sure. Cheryl and Gunnar from Queensland

Dear Cheryl and Gunnar,

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of your stay on TripAdvisor. It is very much appreciated.

We are delighted to hear that from the moment you stepped off our speedboat that you could see the Resort is stunning.

Thank you for your kind compliments on our accommodation, facilities and our beautiful tropical gardens and the cheeky monkeys that inhabit there too. I do agree the surrounding scenery with the limestone cliffs and the view of the islands from Phranang beach is very unique and awe-inspiring.

Glad you enjoyed our pastries and breads which are all made in our own bakery on the property.

Your Cappuccino and cinnamon stick will be ready and waiting for you on your next return!

Until then.......take good care.

MMy partner and myself stayed in the resort at the beginning of April for 11 nights.

Firstly Krabi is an amazing the views are incredible and the sea on all the beaches are as you can imagine, blue with lovely beaches.

From the moment we stepped foot on the Private Speed Boat to take us to the hotel I knew we had made the right choice. When we arrived at the hotel we just hopped off on to the beach to be greeted by the manager, assistance manager and Luna.

Luna gave us a very inclusive talk about the hotel and then showed us to our pavilion, these were just as expected and they have even given a us a bottle and a free evening email to celebrate a belated birthday

Like others have said there are 4 restaurants. We tired them all, people have said they found it expensive I disagree as the quality of the food is worth paying for. We tried one of the restaurants of out of the hotel and never returned (the food was disgusting)

We would like to say a special thank you to Luna for making our stay so special, she really looked after us. To be honest all the the staff were incredible and as we stayed so long they made us feel like we at home and part of the family.

If you get the chance to stay here I would grab it with both hands, we will certainly be back.

We spent three nights here. Transfer from Krabi airport went very well and fast. After that we went to the resort by boat. Also a great adventure and very well arranged. The resort looks lovely. There are beautiful plants and flowers and a lot of wildlife ( monkeys, lizards, fish and so on). Staff is very friendly. Check in went very well. A 75 minutes massage was included, so that was a great surprise! The restaurants are very nice and breakfast is great. Beaches and swimming pool are great. Pool boys are very friendly and accommodating. Some people complain about the noise from the beach, but for us this was not a problem. Maybe it’s worse in high season. The small walking street near Railiay beach is not interesting. We went there once but preferred to stay at the resort.
Highly recommended for a great stay at a luxurious resort. We just came from an Ananatara resort and in my opinion they are just a step ahead in service and hospitality so I gave them 5 stars and Rayavadee 4 stars. But is a great resort at a special location.

We stayed 11 days at Rayavadee Resort and from the very beginning we had a great impression of it. The shuttle picked us up at Krabi airport, already with a fantastic service. Once we arrived at the resort the gave us a flower bracelet, a very warm welcome and guided us to the lobby. They brought us a lovely cocktail while they arranged the check in and explained us about the facilities. So it was easy and fast. They took us and our luggage to the room, very cosy house with 2 floors and 2 toilets (they come at least twice a day to make up your room and bring fresh fruit, cookies and chocolates!)

The pay very much attention to the details, they are extremely polite and want to do their best for you all the time, no matter if its a manager, a waitress or the gardener. Every member of the staff was amazingly friendly and did a great job, every single day. So we were really satisfied with the service, you can't find this service and politeness anywhere in Europe, for sure.

The resort itself is beautiful, like lost in the jungle with a beautiful traditional decoration. The 4 restaurants are very nice and have good quality food, also varied so you won't get bored. The buffet for breakfast is not that big, but they have breakfast A la carte that's included in the price, so you will have more than enough options to choose from, both western and asian.

The gardens (you will probably come across monkeys and lizards, that makes it very special too at least for animal lovers like we are) and swimming pool are fantastic, you have access to 3 beaches at a very short walking distance and even buggy service if you don't want to walk. The SPA is very recommendable, beautiful and peaceful place with very nice treatments and again great service. The activity center is very nice if you want to do some excursions (yes, they seem expensive if you compare them to the prices you can find on the street, but remember they arrange absolutely everything for you from door to door and give you a very exclusive experience with private boats/shuttles, totally worth it). The only bad thing of this place are the mosquitos, they are fierce!! haha. The hotel has permanently mosquito spray in the room for you, but I would recommend to buy the strongest one you can find at a pharmacy before you fly to Thailand.

I could talk for ages about things we liked about this place, but it's nicer if you discover it yourself. To sum up, we have been completely spoiled at Rayavadee and treated almost like royalty. We had a great time an enjoyed chatting with members of the staff all over the resort. If you smile and treat people kindly, you can expect they will be 200% grateful and will go the extra mile for you, as they did with us. Beautiful place, lovely people, we would love to come back one day! Thank you again for everything Rayavadee team!

If you want to disconnect (even if there is WiFi!), and be part of a preserved nature, come and visit Rayavadee, just like us!
This place is really unique. You are right in the middle of a jungle, full of paradise birds and funny monkeys playing in the trees. Thanks to the management, you can discover all the species of flowers while walking in the property. White sand beaches surrounds the property and you feel like in a quiet nest, away from the traditional Thaï boats ballet.
All the villas are beautifully decorated and designed.
Food is really outstanding. You will love the original tastes and flavors of the cuisine, from the breakfast to the dinner. There are 4 different restaurants, near the beach and the cristal water pool, in a grotto,...
The staff is full of kindness and professional. Special mention to Romain, whose main concern is to make your stay unforgettable. And he succeeds!
Next to the pool, laid back luxury, you are refreshed by delicious fresh fruits pickles or sorbets cups. I love it!
I did appreciate the spa.
We brought typical Thaï craftsmanship from the boutique.
