eg/; When we checked in, a man was asked to show us to our room. He didn't bother to even ask to help carry our luggage and he didn't take us to our room, he just pointed to where it was once we were around the corner from the main office.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, looking forward to total relaxation in a nice 4 star hotel by the beach - a break from the hostels we've had to endure for the past 10 weeks.

Unfortunately the hotel was still under renovation for our duration, ending a couples of days after we would leave which was just unlucky. It was a bit of an eyesore walking to reception and there was only a small bit of noise pollution, nothing too extreme. Due to the overhaul we had to go to another hotel for our breakfast which was a bit of a nuisance but other than that it didn't really affect our room. The room was ok, spacious, air con, tv and a nice balcony with a drying rack for clothes. It was clean but there were quite a few mosquitoes and flies squashed on the walls which made parts of the room and toilet seem dirty. For a four star hotel I would expect better and I think that cleaning the walls on those particular circumstances would make the guest's stay more relaxed and comfortable and this is why I have only given 3 stars. Aside from this they have a good hotel which I think will look stunning when finished.

We booked the transfer with them so that it was easier to get from krabi airport to the resort. It's 1200thb before 5pm and 1500 after, one way which includes taxi, boat and tractor (so you don't have to wade knee deep in the water!) which is a bit expensive as you can get cheaper by doing it yourself. But the hotel guarantees you a hassle free trip and no waiting for ages on getting enough people for a long tail boat which requires 8
(or you will have to pay full boat fare of 800thb for your own boat NO Taxi included to airport with this). So hotel is best bet when booking transfer.

Overall a good stay just wish our final day was sunny and not raining and that the hotel was finished.

My review is mixed. The rooms were great - large and very comfortable. We had a room overlooking the pond and pool which also had some great views of the surrounding cliffs. The balcony was a joy to have too. The services outlined for Railay Princess - phone, breakfast, DVDs, etc - were not available onsite but rather at their sister resort Railay Bay (located in Railay West). Railay West beach is about 5-10 minutes walk away.

There is construction next door, which seems to go at all hours. It isn't really disruptive but it can make walking to Railay East a challenge with all the construction supplies and workers about.

Walking to Railay West is a short walk away. There is a very strong smell of raw sewage along the trail leading to Railay West making it a bit unpleasant.

The breakfast is offered through Railay Princesses sister resort, Railay Bay. It was a great buffet with all kinds of foods to pick from - fresh fruit, salad, omelettes, thai stir fried dishes, etc. The food offerings on Railay East seemed questionable so my friend and I decided to head back to Railay Bay for lunch. They seemed to have clean facilities but we were wrong! We ended up getting food poisoning here, not able to keep anything down for about 12-hours. We were set to leave Railay and Thailand the following day. This made travel very difficult. There is no doctor on Railay, a boat taxi to Ao Nang has to be arranged. Railay Princess would not accommodate us staying in our room until 2:30pm, when we had scheduled an airport drop off (even though the room was available). We opted to head to the airport early because sitting somewhere in Railay, sick with food poisoning, for 3 hours was not an option.

Upon check out, Railay Princess provides an option to give a tip. I have never seen an option to tip a resort or hotel. I did not believe that Railay Princess went above and beyond in their service. I do not even feel they fulfilled what should be expected of them as part of their regular service.

1) While the rooms were great, there was some sort of workers quarters across from our balcony. People sat out there all day and peered into our room - what else are they to look at I suppose but this seemed odd to me.

2) When we checked in, a man was asked to show us to our room. He didn't bother to even ask to help carry our luggage and he didn't take us to our room, he just pointed to where it was once we were around the corner from the main office.

3) Railay Princess wouldn't accommodate us staying in the room longer while waiting for our airport drop off. They instead offered for us to sit in their lobby for 3 hours. The room was available, they asked when we went to check out if we would like the room for another day. While laying in the room waiting to check out, someone came in to count the mini bar purchases which was rude and intrusive considering our condition and considering it wasn't time to check out yet.

4) Upon checking out, we were taken to the longtail waiting to take us shore so we could take the van to Krabi airport. It was pouring down rain and were not even offered an umbrella (the person taking us was using one). And once again, no one offered help with luggage.

So while the rooms were relatively nice, I do not think I would stay here again. Services here feel short. Overall, while Railay is gorgeous, I do not think I would come back to stay on the island until it is a bit more developed. With questionable eating facilities (and I ate street food in Bangkok), no doctor on the island, no pharmacy open until late morning, and no easy means to call home, my experience here was not a good one and the last one I had of Thailand. Come for a day trip to enjoy this island and the views it has to offer.

We stayed for four nights in mid November while the construction was coming to an end. Extremely reasonably priced for the size of the room and the little extras on offer i.e. robes and slippers. Although there was no breakfast on offer, there are a few local cheap eats connecting the east and wet beaches. Worth a visit, would love to go back!

Might be a very nice hotel when they finish building it,
Currently there is open manholes lose electric wire etc as they continue to build the hotel, coming back to hotel is quite challenging at night as you have to return through the active construction site. Most annoying thing is they advertise a cheaper rate than can be found online at the site enterance because of the building work. If you really want to stay here just show up and avail of this cheaper rate, rooms are large with a nice view facing away from the construction site and are very close to being fully finished.

We spent 3 nights mid august 2013. The hotel is in reconstruction but it wasn't that big a deal (our room was far for the construction).

The room are nice and wide. Very clean.
The pool and the view are really gorgeous.

The price was excellent at the season (around half the price of the other resort around).
Good choice, I would recommend it.

Stayed here at the end of the low season (late October),and the price was very good through expedia (about $40). They are expanding in a big way, and we had to walk through some of the construction to get to the lobby, but it was not disruptive to our stay otherwise. Rooms are very nice with lots of little amenities: robes, slippers, umbrellas to borrow, fresh orchids on the sheets. I was nervous based on other complaints about the construction, but we thought it was a great place overall.
