Toilet leaked, had to move rooms. Toilet in second room leaked as well the fridge. No credit card facilities. Pretty old rooms with no shower curtains.

The hotel is located up the top of a long flight of stairs which were in an ordinary state. Nice view from the pool.

In hindsight would have arrived and stayed in a place closer to the cafes and restuarants against the water.

Room Tip: consider picking another hotel.

It was by FAR the worst place I have ever stayed in my life. The rooms are disgusting, bathroom is dirty, toilet not working properly, algae and stains on the sides of the bath. Bedroom walls are dirty and above the bed are brown dirt marks. Paid for a room with a/c but a/c was not working (surprise!). When I went to reception to inform them that the a/c was not working, Mr Somsak, the manager, act like an absolute idiot! He is an extremely rude person with a really bad attitude. No wonder this place is an absolute mess and that most of the reviews are negative. Avoid at all costs!

Room Tip: Avoid!!! Rather sleep on the beach if there is nothing else available.

I don't expect a mega amount when staying in Thailand but this was pretty awful, I'd take heed of the reviews below b4 checking in, pretty grim! (I'm a backpacker & used to packed dorms & smelly rooms - this was far worse)..

Mold in bathrooms, dirty stains on the walls, musty bed sheets, filthy pillows on chairs, no reception on tv, mouldy plastic bag on ceiling fixture & just an all around dirtyness that you get from somewhere that hasn't been updated in YEARS.

Payed 650 Baht - pretty expensive IMO.

Would of prob been a really beautiful place years ago now but it's had it's day.

I stayed 4 fantastic days at this Resort. After searching and looking all the other budget choices around, I found this place. The room was next to the pool area, surrounded by trees and some monkeys. The interior is well maintained, everything worked! the air-con, the fan, TV with English movies, fridge, hot shower and towels provided. Free 24 hour WIFI(one of the few accommodations to offer that). Of course you can tell the place has been there for some years, but the paint and the gardens were very well updated. About the cleaning: wasn't spotless, but wasn't dirty, the floors good clean, but the corners of the toilet walls wasn't the most clean. The bed was so good to sleep in, and the room was very well ventilated, glad to NOT see mold from heat condensation. The staff was lovely, very friendly and helpful. I bring my cat with me so they were the most kind to accept it and even pet him!
The gardens are soooo nice, was monkeys going about, the pool area is big, clean and sunny. Love the view from there! yes, you have to go up 100 steps to get to the hotel, but totally worth it and the staff can help you with your bags.
About the location is right there where all the good food places are, anyway you can walk around exploring all the choices (won't take more than 30 minutes return). The best beach to go is Phranang beach, that one is about 20-30 minute easy walk to there(the water is AMAZING). Or you can go to the other coast in a 10 minute walk instead, the beach is not as dramatic, but is more quiet.
Overall, is really enjoyed my stay at the Diamond Resort, and I hope to go back and stay 2 weeks! the best price for all the services and staff, only B500!

Room Tip: if you get a room near the pool you can get the WIFI connection, otherwise you'll have to bring...

After carrying our luggage a few kms along the beach to get to the hotel, and up hundreds of old wooden wet stairs that felt like they were to break at any moment we reached the resort. we were put into this run down dark room with broken tiles and toilet and dirty sheets. This was the most expensive room out of all that we had stayed in through out our travels through Thailand, and the worst looking. we demanded an upgrade and was sadly still disappointed. Because it was low season the resort restaurant was not open so we had to walk to another one for breakfast every morning :( This resort needs a serious upgrade and renovation!

We turned up at Railay without anywhere to sleep and we were walking along getting quoted 1400 baht for rooms and as travellers that was too much - so we braved the stairs up to diamond resort and it paid off as we got the room for a lot cheaper than that!!
Excellent that we could just turn up and them be able to accommodate us.
The room was good, clean, spacious and had a fan and the bathroom was good too.
We only stayed for a night, but the location was brilliant with it only being a minutes walk from Last Bar and the view was stunning.

We stayed in Bungalow #3 for 4 nights in mid August. We did not read all of the terrible reviews before our stay, and are glad that we didn't because we would have passed up on a nice place to stay on Railay East. This hotel is definitely a bit of a mixed bag in terms of pros and cons, so we would recommend not booking in advance (particularly in low season) just show up, negotiate a deal, and see for yourself if it fits your needs.

Pros:
-Great Views from balconies, pool deck, and lobby area.
-Spacious bungalow and patio that felt private but not too secluded.
-Good price break for multiple night stay lower to midrange rate for Railay of 700 Bhat per night (prices range from as low as 100 Bhat to as much as 5000 Bhat in Railay depending on which beach you stay at and how rustic or luxurious the hotel is).
-Very close to all of the restaurants, bars, and minimarts that are on Railay East Beach. Yes, you do have to walk up nearly 100 stairs to reach your Bungalow, buy who can't use a bit of extra exercise.
-The grounds were scenic and swimming pool was clean, refreshing and had an oceanview.
-A/C, Fan and Hot water all worked well

Cons:
-The bed sheets and towels had stains
-Our bungalow was not cleaned all week, we had to take out the trash and get new bathroom supplies from reception.
-Wifi only avialable near lobby.

Neutral:
-Cleanliness was OK. There was some mold in the bathroom and some small spider webs, but the room was in pretty goof shape otherwise, it is a budget resort in a remote area of Thailand afterall.

-The staff responded to questions and requests with a smile, but didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome.
