“Amazing views, great house & facilities, suited our needs perfectly”

We are a large group of cycling enthusiasts who stayed for two fantastic weeks in September 2018. Our host Graham was both gracious and accommodating and stayed onsite as our chef. Great views of the Pyrenees from the front yard offered a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere after a long day on the 'saddle' or touring by car. Our host also provided knowledge of the local cycling routes and joined us for a few rides.

This 'rustic' farmhouse is situated close to the A64 east-west toll road offering easy access to surrounding area. The city of Toulouse is 1.5 hrs to the east. Lourdes/Tarbes are less than an hour west. Arreau and St. Lary Soulan are less than an hour south. The local city of Lannemanzen, a few miles to the north, had all the amenities we needed with a large supermarket, bakeries, restaurants, banking, pharmacies etc.

The property has a large front yard for out door activities and especially dining. Large kitchen, many bedrooms and bathrooms, hot tub, swimming pool, bicycle storage & repair facilities and a covered outdoor game room.

We opted for the Gite's meal service, breakfast every morning and dinner most evenings which suited our needs perfectly. We ate wonderful dinners prepared by our host most evenings outdoors in the front yard.

Everyone agreed that should an opportunity arise for a return trip to the Pyrenees we would definitely consider this property again.

“Stunning views & a great space”
Reviewed 26 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

We came to the Gite with a group of families & friends (roughly 15 adults and 5 small kids). The space was perfect for the kids to play, although slightly better for over 2s. The swimming pool was lovely and refreshing on a sunny day, but a little too cold for non swimmers (such as my 2 year old son) but the hot tub was a perfect 'after-swim' activity.
Graham was very friendly and accommodating to our needs.
We hired a car, which seems almost essential for getting about. The supermarkets were a 5-10 minute drive, which was really useful.
The views on site are really beautiful & I felt very relaxed being there. There were a few days we didn't even leave the site as there was plenty of space just to hang around and entertain ourselves.
The table tennis table was hit with us and made a nice change from just watching telly for entertainment.
The kitchens were well stocked and it was easy for us all to cook for large groups, which worked perfectly here. It was such a treat to have dinner outside looking at the mountains.
It was a little bit difficult to find, perhaps a sign would be handy? And an extra gate between the garden and the pool would have been useful for those with young kids but they were fine in the end!
All in all a lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of the world.

“A paradise”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We've celebrated my 30th birthday with my family and friends (27 people) in this exceptional farmhouse.

It is perfectly located, well arranged and very tidy. The view on the Pyrénées from the bedrooms and jacuzzi is breath-taking. The view on the Pic du midi from the swimming pool is as beautiful and charming.

There are many comfortable rooms allowing everybody to feel at home, whether it be my parents or couple with young children.
The kitchen is well-equipped and big enough to cook at several people without stepping on anyone toes. Every details in the house is well thought.

The location is very easy to find, only a couple of kilometers from the highway exit, nobody has trouble finding it.

The owner is very nice and pleasant, waited on us hand and foot during all our stay and being very discreet.

We had an amazing week-end and we'll be back soon for sure!
This farmhouse is going to be our favorite place for the next family reunions or party with friends.

I strongly recommend it! Come and see by yourselves, NO WAY you'd be disappointed :)

“A wonderful and entertaining house in a great location”
Reviewed 23 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We spent an extended week-end with friends and family to celebrate a birthday and it was amazing!
The house is huge, with a lot of comfortable bedrooms, a fully equiped kitchen, two really cosy living room with a chimney in one of them. The hot-tub is absolutely amazing. we had the possiblity to play ping-pong and table football near the outside bar.
The view from the house is breath taking and we really enjoyed to reunite and celebrate there.
The owner is really welcoming and made us feel like we were at home. He waited for us to arrive and the house was perfectly tidy.
Thank you for this unforgettable weekend. We will be back!
Special mention to the night sky which is absolutely amazing (we even saw falling stars and the milkyway)

“Great base for cycling in the mountains”
Reviewed 12 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

We were a group of ten staying here so we could cycle the famous 'cols'. We also explored the local area by car. For all this, Les Saules is a great spot. There are views into the distance from the house. It was a relaxed place to stay, with lots of space and a big enough kitchen that we could all prepare and eat in there together.
Highlights:
- eating outside at the large table
- well equipped including dishwasher and washing machine
- the pool was great
- the garden and table tennis table
- the cycle store was large enough for everyone’s bikes
- large open barn area where we could hang washing when it rained
- nearby (35 mins walk or a short cycle) village has a weekly market, bread shops, small supermarket, a great chocolatier - they'll give you bits to try!
- large rooms, two sitting rooms etc, so plenty of space for us to spread out
- wifi, which was great for the teenagers
Lowlights:
- you are in the country ... mice! We hung bags containing biscuits, crisps etc from the beams in the kitchen to spoil their fun
- furniture and furnishings are mostly not new but this suited us fine
- some of us found the beds were uncomfortable
- not all bedrooms have curtains/blinds/shutters
- we ate most of our meals at Les Saules. We found there were not many places locally where we wanted to eat. Of course, this depends on your taste. There was a greater choice in Lannemezan, but when we were there we found several of these were closed for the owners’ holidays. However we liked La Bodega and L’Embrun.
- the bikes left by the owner for our use (free) weren't brilliant, at best suitable for local cycling.

We had a great time here and would certainly recommend it.

“A hidden gem”
Reviewed 3 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

Stayed here on the back of a friends recommendation and so glad we did. Travelled with spouse and our three adult kids.

The farmhouse is hidden away down a single track roads and as you go up the drive this characterful farmhouse appears.

It was pouring down with rain when we arrived, so all was a bit miserable after an early morning (mid January) but as we stepped inside we were soon captivated. The kitchen was a classic french kitchen with a big table in the centre of the room. There was only 5 of us, but could have got double that with space to spare. There is a fantastic real coffee machine (as in the one that you'd find in a coffee shop), a beaut of a thing, I acted like a Barista, amazing coffee. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need and there appears to bathrooms everywhere.

There is a tv/lounge and a separate bigger lounge along with a bedroom on the ground floor and loads of bedrooms upstairs. The view from the bedrooms across the valley to the snow capped mountains is simple stunning and after the rain on the 1st day is was a real treat to wake up to the view.

We skied at Saint Lary for a couple of days, pleasant little resort about 30-45 mins away, perfect for a couple of days. Each evening we cooked in the farmhouse as no-one wanted to go out as it was so nice (after we'd been in the hot tub) and then played cards and chilled in the lounge with a huge log fire.

A holiday is what you make it and, for us, this pleasant farmhouse just made it perfect.

Would thoroughly recommend a break here. As others have said here, would really love to come back in the summer months to explore more the stunning location.

“The best Christmas Ever!”

We had the most amazing family christmas in this wonderful farmhouse. The age group ranged from 80 to 8 and there was something for everyone. I personally loved the living area with the wonderful big wood burner making for super cosy winter nights.
The kitchen was perfect for our large group and we found the facilities perfect, even for cooking roast turkey and all the trimmings for 11 people.
The outside space and all the toys were great for the younger adults while I enjoyed the hotub and the simply stunning view.
Graham was great to deal with and prompt in all communication.
