We booked The Tower to attend my son's wedding on the island and we were not disappointed. It's a unique and beautiful place to stay and helped to make our time in Grenada even more memorable.
True, as one of the previous correspondents writes, it's not right on a beach but you are likely to have a car (or there are excellent transport possibilities) and you are within minutes of all the famous Grenadian beaches and the position is sensational. There are shops and supermarkets nearby and several excellent restaurants but at the end of the day, it's a 15-25 minute (depending on traffic of course) to St. George's (take the back road), so it really doesn't matter and you have a unique place to say with some of the best views on the island.
The circular design gives it an amazing outlook both from the bedroom and pool level but particularly from the upper level which literally has a 360 degree view of the surrounding area and, as you are at the top of a large hill, that view is spectacular.
The bedrooms have recently been upgraded and the master bedroom is fabulous with tasteful furniture, colourful art works and a 'wet room' en suite. Don't be put off by the outside kitchen. The place has been very cleverly designed so you get a good cool breeze when you are using the facilities but also protection when you get the odd downpour (it's a tropical island right?). There's plenty of storage and two fridges so you can keep the drinks nice and cool. The only negative was a barbecue that was a bit past it's sell by date but the owner has promised to replace it.
We hosted a party for the two families at The Tower and the combination of upstairs and downstairs meant it was an amazing venue that everyone loved.
We love cooking so a few tips - go to the fresh fish market in St George's quite early to get bang fresh fish. I queued behind some locals and listened in on the prices they were paying for tuna and barracuda so made sure we got the same price! In the supermarkets, opt for stuff that is grown or made locally as imported goods are pretty expensive. And you absolutely must try the local rums including the 'rocket fuel' bottles that are too alcoholic to be sold in duty free.
The owners are brilliant at recommending car hire companies, taxis, restaurants etc and Ingrid, who visits five days a week, is really helpful and also has good local knowledge.
We now have a direct connection with this wonderful island (make sure you explore to the north if you can) and, in the words of Arnie - "We'll be back!"
Stayed at the tower for two weeks. It's built high on the ridge and from the top you get a fantastic 360 view of the island. The bedrooms are ensuite with air conditioning and split over two levels. Kitchen area provides enough space for preparing meals but much prefer to get out and enjoy the Grenada restaurants. The housekeeper Ingrid is a joy to meet and will go out of her way to look after you.
Like the rest of Grenada there are plenty of steep hills to encounter but just rent a car and enjoy the island
We were 2 couples and the house is perfect for giving each some space.
It comes with a housekeeper. She was great. She did all the dishes and our laundry, changed the beds, etc. The house is in a central location on top of a hill with a 360 view of the island. We really enjoyed the lap pool. The outdoor kitchen doesn't take much to get used to. It is not close to a beach. There are not to many places to eat close by. Mostly you will need to drive 10 - 20 minutes for most things. There is a new lovely supermarket 5 minutes down the road.
If you are not used to driving British style(we were not) It can be a bit of a stress. The roads are OK but have no shoulders and drivers do not give way.
I do have 2 suggestions for the owners. First most Americans drink filtered electric machine coffee. The french press was not to our liking and the coffee was always cold. Second a tile lip or edge in the bath would be much nicer than a flooded bathroom every time you shower. All in all it is a unique experience and Grenada and her people are beautiful.
We stayed at the tower for a month, we loved every minute. The views are incredible 360 degrees all around the island. Being so high up there is always a soothing breeze. An amazing piece of architecture beautifully maintained, giving every luxury from the beautiful pool to the amazing sound of the Bose music system , which sounded incredible in the circular bedroom.loved the outside kitchen and very comfortable furniture.some days we didn't want to leave , the lovely housekeeper Ingrid was so helpful and informative .we loved it so much we are getting married on the top floor next year. The only thing missing was a full length mirror .
Perfect for a group of friends wh want to relax together in a quiet space with relaxing atmosphare. Loved the outside kitchen.
What a fantastic place The Tower is! Superb facilities, lovely pool and outdoor kitchen, everything spotlessly clean and in perfect working order. The owner is a friend of mine and made my arrival incredibly easy, but he would invariably do the same for any visitor. I could not have enjoyed my stay more. The neighbours, and indeed all the locals, are incredibly friendly and the island boasts great beaches, bars and restaurants-oh, and international cricket if that's your game!

If you're looking for an alternative to the mass produced package holidays in the Caribbean then The Tower will not leave you disappointed. It offers luxurious accommodation with stunning ocean views and 100% privacy. The architecture compliments the surroundings perfectly and you can't fail to be impressed as you approach for the first time.
We stayed for two weeks, hired a car for the first week and then took buses for the other. Buses are the best way to mix shoulder to shoulder (literally) with the friendly Grenadians and get a real feel for the culture but a car will give you the freedom to explore in your own time. Either way, The Tower is the perfect base from which to explore a beautiful and unique island.
