“Great place in a great place!”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

My wife and I stayed at Park farm 26th Aug, had a lovely room, with all the relevant amenities, nicely decorated, clean and overlooking the pond and lovely gardens.
We ate a couple of times and found the food to be well presented, tasty and really quite reasonably priced. (the wine was good too!)
We went for some "us" time in the leisure facilites and found them to be clean, ample and relaxing , and asked about some building at the back of the pool, and were told they are improvements to the wet side! We almost felt that it didnt need improving. All this added to friendly staff who, whilst very busy, still had one eye on keeping us happy too, made it a thoroughly enjoyable stay. would recommend it if you fancy a break, shopping trip to norwich, or even just for business.

Room Tip: deluxe rooms are lovely and nicely presented

We had our daughters wedding here at the weekend, Absolutely superb. A seamless day, the staff without exception were pleasant, helpful, smiling and unobtrusive. We had 20 rooms which were all lovely - I only heard positive comments.
Well worth staying here it is a fantastic location (the weather helped!!) and well placed to visit Norfolk.

Staying for one night mid week with work, the venue was, on approach very nice with plenty of available parking. The reception staff extremely helpful, showing me to the room. The room was certainly above average, with more space than i was expecting, a very nice bathroom and interestingly a wet bar. I was a little suprised to see a frosted glass panelled door into the bathroom - certainly one for those who share everything with their partner!

After deciding to try the hotel food rather than trek to a local pub, i decided to eat in the bar - the restaurant was empty! The menu is pretty good, with great choice. However, to be completely honest i was pretty dissapointed with the food. The steak was very similar to something i would cook at home (a steak swiming in steak juice!) and extremely greasy chips, this followed by crumble with what can only be described as powdered custard made in the microwave.

The gym was pretty good, if looking a little dated. The new looking showers were quite a nice touch. I would however recommend avoiding any time from 7 till 9am - i couldnt actually get a swim due to an overcrowded pool!

The food asside, the hotel is very pleasant, and i'm sure you'd be happy with the well air conditioned room and free wifi.

Went to a wedding reception here, looked nice, food was good but place was infested with flies, No one touched the buffet as the flies were having their fill first. When asked about the fly problem the response was that 'it was hot today'....? Got merry and decided to stay the night Paid what we were told was a retaining fee at the bar, £80, and drank more, left in the morning paid for room and drinks, £134 and left. Got home and thought I hope they didn't take the room fee twice.... Checked bank and there was the £80 and £134 gone.... Rang them and they said no it was just a retaining fee at the bar, money will be back in my account in 2 working days. Nope, rang them again, they said no it's 5 working days, Still nothing, rang them again. They told me it was my banks fault they were holding it. Bank said this was rubbish Park farm had taken my money twice. Rang park farm for the 4th time and finally someone went to check. Low and behold 'sincere apologies we'll refund your money in the next 2 days... 3 days later and 2weeks in total still no refund.. Absolutely useless!

Park Farm Hall Hotel is approximately 10 miles outside of Norwich near the town of Wymondham (pronounced Windham).

The original farmhouse is a handsome Victorian building that has been progressively extended over the years to create a fairly large hotel.

My partner & I have stayed here several times. We have always been impressed by the friendly service, the size of the rooms, the quietness of the location and the comfortable natuire of the beds. The spa complex is also a real bonus with a good sized pool.

We have eaten in the bar/conservatory, a pleasant experience of sunny evenings, and found the food very tasty and good value. An added bonus is that the bar serves local beers such as Wolf and Woodfordes - try them, they are excellent.

Room Tip: Try to avoid rooms in the separate block to the rear of the hotel. They are adequate but in our expe...

Stayed for 4 nights on business, in a room in one of the rear blocks with a great view of an old run down farm shed! Location very quiet and secluded with much bird song. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room was very tidy and spacious, with very squeaky floorboards. Large bed, with one of those heavy duvets that are ideal in winter but unsuited for warm summer nights. The only major issue I had was walls that are paper thin and lack any form of soundproofing - fortunately I had reasonably quiet neighbours who turned their TV off at a reasonable time. I can imagine that on busy wedding / function weekends this could become an issue.
It was nice ( and unusual in this rip-off age) to have free wifi available - though reception was intermittent in quality.
Cannot comment of evening meals, but breakfast was more than adequate, with service being a hybrid version halfway between standard buffet and waiter service. ( Tip - wait till after the 7am rush of business people is over, when it gets a bit less frenetic. I was overlooked by staff on one morning and never got tea and toast offered.) Food left out under lights does get dry and hard though.
Altogether though, a pleasant stay.

My partner & I choose to stay here as it had the pool/spa facilities. Lovely location, very warm welcome by reception which continued up to leaving when they told us we were welcome to use the leisure facilities for the rest of the day. Room had tired decor (room 36) and guessing it used to be a smoking room has had a faint smell but did not put us off. Lots of space in superior room, very well cleaned each day. Cleaning team where lovely and chatty.

Breakfast was buffet, it was sufficient to fill you up but the quality was not amazing but certainly did the job. Could have as much as you wanted ot choose from menu for porriage, boiled eggs, etc.

Leisure facilities great, never over crowded. Very relaxing stay.

Park & ride to Norwich at the top of road which was efficient and very handy.

Did not eat any other meals at hotelto unable to comment. Ate at Queens Head at Hethersett - it was OK meal but pricey for what we had (Aunt Bessie mash potatoes!!!!). The Kings Head was not much better - had liver which was served under cooked.
