“Valentines retreat”
Reviewed 16 February 2014 via mobile

We stayed at the hotel on the 15th February on the valentines offer. We stayed in room 51 which was a beautiful executive room. On arrival we were checked in quickly and showed to our room located at the far end if the hotel, away from the bar. Some people have commented on noise from the function rooms as weekends there can be a few of these going on. We weren't far from one and heard no noise at all!! The bed had roses petals on the bed and a bottle of fizz and chocolate strawberries waiting on the table. It had a huge double bed which was so comfy! A large bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and massive walk in shower with heated floor. There was a lovely patio outside with a table and chairs and a lovely little garden secluded from everyone else. We used the gym facilities and pool, this was a nice little extra to the hotel stay. We had dinner booked for 7:30 and waited in the bar area to have our order taken and escorted into the restaurant. They had really made an effort with rose petals on the table and a single red rose for everyone to take away. Dinner was amazing!!! The fillet of beef and dessert where the best! The morning after included breakfast consisting of full English, croissants, cereals, fresh meats etc all very delicious and sad I couldn't try abit of everything as I was very full. My only gripe was that the checkout is early at 10:30 and would have liked that perhaps abit longer. My boyfriend also enjoyed a massage the following day at the imagine spa and gave it the thumbs up! Just gutted I didn't book the treatments earlier as I missed out on having anything done as slots get booked up quick!
I would love to return again and would really recommend the room we had.
Such great value for money and well worth our travel to get there all the little extra touches made it more special. Thank you.

Have just returned from a one night Valentine's break at Park Farm Hotel. We booked a stay in Room 51 which was an executive suite, which was situated to the extreme right of the hotel complex. You can park in a small car park right outside your room and bring your luggage into your room from that car park. Our room also had an outside Table and Chairs, which in the summer would be lovely to sit outside your room while relaxing. I didn't see any of the other suites with the outside Tables. We arrived just after noon, we new that our room would not be ready until 1.30pm/2pm so we went to the bar to have a drink and lunch. On arrival, we were asked if we had a reservation, because the bar was fully booked. The bar area is quite large with a vast seated conservatory area, so probably 50 tables plus, but they were full. A hint to anyone considering arriving around lunch time, book a table in the bar, just to be sure you have a seat. Anyway, we got a drink at sat at the bar and the bar staff alerted us as soon as a table became available, some 20-30 minutes later. I had a Chicken, Bacon and Cheese in a Ciabatta and my wife had a Duck in Hoi sin sauce wrap, we both enjoyed them very much, then had coffees afterwards. The bill only came to just under £20 which included a pint and a Pimms, very reasonable and top quality. We checked into our room which was very spacious with a King Size Bed, large Wide Screen TV, table and chairs, Ironing board and Iron plus a separate Trouser Press. The room was spotless and modern as was the bathroom with separate shower enclosure and jacuzzi bath. Our room had rose petals sprinkled over our bed. On the table were chocolate covered strawberries with a half bottle of fizz on ice. There were also two heart shaped helium balloons attached to the ice bucket. We spent the afternoon in the Gym and Pool, which again has a modern quality design. The gym is quite small, but not cramped with plenty of apparatus. The pool was of a good size, if a little cool. There is a steam room, a sauna and a hot tub. Towels are provided to guests for use in the gym. We had booked our evening meal at 8.30pm and were ready about 7.30pm, so we went through to the bar to get a drink. The bar staff enquired whether we were dining, told us to take a seat and someone would bring menus to us, which duly happened, then after a short while while they took our orders and then a few minutes later took us through to the restaurant, which was ahead of our booked time, but no one seemed to mind. The five course meal could not be faulted. Soup, fish course, Fillet steak, Chocolate fondant and Coffee, perfect. Staff were very attentive and friendly throughout our stay. The morning breakfast was top quality too, lots of choice and a really good cooked breakfast. Our bed was very large and comfortable too. The hotel, it's setting and design is very modern and appealing. I would image it is really lovely come spring time or summer, where you can enjoy the gardens and surrounding too. I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and our suite room 51.

Room Tip: Executive suite, room 51 has it's own outside table and chairs. It has it's own private car...

Mark we were all so proud to read your in-depth review of your Valentines break with us. It gives us great pleasure to read such fabulous feedback and confirms that the staffs hard work and attitude does not go unnoticed.

Many of our bedrooms come with outside seating areas and this is very popular during the summer months, we hope you will come back and experience this yourself.

Again thank you for your valuable feedback.

Fantastic mid week break with my wife, staff were unobtrusive but there if needed, all were very nice.

Dining room is high standard and very quiet for intimate dining experience, waiting staff were perfect and attentive but not over bearing. The bar is used by a lot of guests to have a meal and a drink, nothing is too much for the staff who are on hand to assist always with a smile.

The food quality is extremely high and you would go a long way to find a sirloin steak cooked to such perfection as I have had in few establishments, the chefs know their trade and should be commended, the breakfast is excellent and plentiful.

The pool, sauna, steam rooms and jacuzzi are lovely, spotless and very relaxed, again staff are not over bearing but are there if needed.

This is an excellent quality classy hotel and well recommended for a relaxing break for couples. Loved it.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 9, spotless, very large spacious room, bathroom and shower are excellent.

Agree with everything everyone says but beware the room is not one close to celebration facility as you will not get any sleep until well past 1.00am. We were not warned about this and did mar our stay.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback following your recent stay with us. We are grateful for the high rating you gave us despite the issues you faced with noise.

I would say that on all of the hotels confirmations we send out and even on most of the third party booking agents websites, it does state we have musical entertainment most weekends. We do try and allocate guests not attending these functions, bedrooms away from the noise but this cannot be guaranteed. Please accept our apologies this had a negative impact on your stay. Should you be staying in the area again please contact me directly and we would ensure you were allocated a quieter bedroom.

Kind regards

Stayed for a three night relaxing get away from our kids and wasn't disappointed. Having booked based on reviews on this site, I had high expectations, and there were definitely met, if not surpassed.

We used most of the hotel facilities other than the restaurant.
- The bar area was very welcoming and relaxing
- Breakfast was lovely, excellent service
- Full use of the leisure club facilities on site was a bonus, and I was in the pool every day.
- My wife and I had several treatments at the on site spa - a special thanks to the girls who helped us relax!

Our room was at the far end of the hotel away from any function rooms. We booked a Deluxe room, which had a huge bed, dressing table, sofa/TV area and separate table and chairs by a large opening patio door - very large, clean, well furnished etc. Bathroom was also very large and very modern/clean. Fantastic shower (separate from the bath). It seemed like there was underfloor heating too! Freeview TV in the room. Excellent WIFI signal throughout the vast/extensive hotel, in particular in the room and bar area. Managed to steam SkyGo without buffering!

The hotel alone was great, but it was the service and attitude of all the staff we encountered which sets this hotel aside from most others I have stayed in and made it a truly excellent visit.

Would happily return to this hotel again!

Room Tip: We had room 39 which was an excellent room for us - and it was pretty much as the 'Deluxe' r...

I normally stay at Park Farm a couple of times a year when I'm in Norwich on business, and it is an excellent well run hotel. Highlights include the illuminated tree-lined driveway when arriving at night, the professional staff, interesting layout, enjoying well prepared food in the nice conservatory setting, and delicious breakfast. If I could offer one suggestion, the sheets & blanket approach on the beds is a bit old fashioned, I would prefer a simple duvet, but then I suppose some people prefer it that way.

We are most grateful for your feedback. I am glad to see we fit your needs well, while you visit Norwich on business. We are biased but also find your highlights part of the charm of Park Farm Hotel.

We take note of your comments regarding the sheets and blanket approach. We have a mixture of bedrooms with duvets and when you are next staying with us please make us aware and we can alter the bedding to suit your preference.

Again thank you for your kind words and we shall hope to welcome you back soon.

Peaceful surroundings. Very tasteful bedroom furniture and decor. We enjoyed the luxury of underfloor heating in the bathroom. Good evening meals but service could be improved. Excellent choices for Sunday breakfast but limited on Monday morning. We appreciated the location of the Park & Ride into Norwich. Inner courtyard gardens were lovely even in January.

We would advise elderly guests to ask for ground floor accommodation as we found it a struggle to carry our luggage upstairs without a lift.

Unfortunately, as we were touring around Norfolk, we didn't get to use the spa facilities.

Room Tip: Ground floor accommodation if you are elderly or an invalid.

Dear David,

We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback. It gives us great pleasure to read such positive comments from our guests. Many of our visitors find the underfloor heating in the bathrooms a welcoming treat, especially during the winter months. Service issues are currently being addressed but please accept my apologies in this instance. I would highlight we do offer all guests porterage, and you need only ask if you need further assistance with anything during your stay.

Again thank you for your review and we shall hope to welcome you back soon.

Kind regards
