We had a fantastic stay at the Dunstan hall for 2 nights in november. The check in was quick and effiecient, very friendly and welcoming. The deluxe room we were allocated was excellent, very large, clean, with a fantastic king bed. We had the best 2 nights sleep we have had for a long time, the breakfast was very good as well. The food was hot, tasty and offered good value for money.
All staff in the hotel were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
Whilst we didn't use the leisure facilities the pool, spa and gym looked amazing.
On check out we were thanked by the manager, who was most polite, His name was Ian.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
Can't wait to go back in the new year.

My self and friends where invited to stay here for a Hen Party for one night, we all had a one hour treatment in the spa either a facial or back massage, I choose the facial, not the best service i was not asked what type of skin i had and after one hour i came out with a blotchy rash all over my face which increased in size and now a day after it became larger and very sore.... Its the worst facial i have ever experienced. After our treatments we went to the pool which on the web site it says its heated and its not, the whirlpool was broken, very dim, dull light fixtures not fited or once there and now holes on the walls, not enough sun beds to lay on, no drink/refreshments near the pool, we had to get dressed to go to a bar to have a drink and then back to the pool area get back into our swimming costumes and back into the pool area, the sauna and steam room had seen better days, this was not at all worth the price payed. The waiter service in the resturant was very slow, we asked two waiters for a jug of water and it never turned up.... 3rd time lucky. The mattress were very soft and pillows hard, I did not sleep!! Food ok, drinks expensive. I would never stay here again.

Only stayed 1 night, but all three couples that stayed in our group were impressed. I was in the Cedar Suite overlooking the golf course - stunning. Bed comfortable and room massive :). Room service fast and friendly also.

The other rooms were deluxe double and again, superb rooms. Beds comfortable, spacious and quiet. Breakfast was a bit of a queue as was checkout, but staff were friendly and well organised.

Facilities, were excellent but personally I liked the place as it was not modern and sterile, rather old and grand.

Check-in staff were friendly and capable, handling our very early arrival and looking after our belongings until later in the day.

Overall, good experience, we will all be back.

Overall, I was disaappointed with this hotel. My husband booked a short stay for the two of us to get away from London. Upon arrival, we found that we were in the Ash Suite, which sounded very promising. However, once we got the room our happiness was short lived for 3 reasons. Firstly, our mattress had clearly seen better days. It was both visually and in reality extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and resulted in two very bad nights of rest for me. More worrying though is the fact that it looked so old - it was clearly sagging in the middle! I find it very difficult to understand how the management in the hotel have not fixed this "obvious" problem given the number of stars it claims to hold. Perhaps the managing director of the hotel should stay in this suite one night and see the situation for themselves. Secondly, the water pressure in the shower was very poor and this meant the shower was also a very poor experience all round. Lastly, the "children's play room" was directly above our room - so on several occasions we were disturbed with a lot of baning and stompoing from above.
On another night, the food was relatively good (considering), but it wasn't enough to make up for the other shortcomings. What a shame! There is clearly a lot of potential present but perhaps a lack of proper investment. I do not recommend this hotel - I do not feel it was in any way value for money. I have had far better experiences at Premier Inn hotels for far less money.

Amazing hotel. We were travelling with 4 young children and had two family rooms for 2 nights which were upgraded to double deluxe rooms on arrival by staff. Check in was fast. Rooms were warm, clean and spotless. We had the new annex rooms 642 & 649, 3rd floor. The beds were so soft and comfortable. Hotel Pool and Jacuzzi were clean and the food in all restaurants for lunch, breakfast were hot and fresh and the staff were always smiling and helpful to us and our children. There were weddings happening at the hotel which looked fab. I love this hotel and would advise you to stay for as long as possible and book your Christmas lunch there too.

I thought Dunston Hall had some of the best views and nicest staff I've come across. I was fortunate to stay in the penthouse which was huge and very novel. The food in the bistro was delicious. The decor was tasteful and beatifully done. Loved the spa, the swimming pool was a bit of a funny shape and it was delinated for lane swimmers which people didn't stick to but not the hotel's fault! A delightful and relaxing atomosphere in a pretty part of the country. Would recommend the hotel to anyone!
