Cripes with all the anticipation of a trip away I was very excited. The major problem was that the bed was 4foot, not even a standard 4.6" - my partner and I were quite stunned that any hotel offering double rooms with entertain the idea of an undersized bed. Such a shame. The bedding was lovely though, Flints Restaurant is worthy of a visit and the students were fabbo - interested, engaging and efficient, well done them! The breakfast service was a bit haphazard, cold and the food was very unappealing sadly (guessing breakfast chef was not the Flints chef the previous night),poor quality bacon/sausages etc.

Lovely to get a FREE newspaper delivered, nice touch.

Reception staff could use a BELL for service, I hate arriving at an empty reception desk only to hear talking behind a brick wall, suggest they open that up, no need for covert operations! Plus reception staff distinctly disinterested in their roles, sooooooo different from restaurant staff. I am sure it is not an exciting job,but in life you get given lemons, you make lemonade :)

Sweetie jar on reception was nice too but a huge glass doomed lid sat on it so to get a lovely choc you had to lift that off to start with and find somewhere to put it, bit of a H&S hazard and makes you think that you are not welcome to a choc... ??

My partner was a bit fed up to wait in excess of 15 mins for a drink at the bar as the coach party arrived at the same time we did and only one bar person serving yet many folk in the restaurant, some mgt needed here me thinks.

The Spa was below par (just to coin a golfing term :) ) the pool was colder than expected dum de dum.

Digital switchover day - TV's did not work properly but you would think that a hotel would have this covered. No Radio 4 either :(

Would I return, not really sadly.

Room Tip: Ask for a full sized bed :) we had 2 beds in our room, a 4 foot one and a single... you have to wal...

Eight of us 'girlies' stayed here for the weekend. It was absolutely brilliant. The standards were first class, food well presented and very tasty, staff were friendly and approachable, in fact we were really pampered. While we were there we went to an evening show, "Thurford Christmas Spectacular". It was absolutely brilliant from beggining to end and was far better than some West End shows we have seen, very professional. We all said we would definately go again and we would tell our friends it was well worth going to see. A perfect venue if visitors from abroad were visiting the Norwich area especially around Christmastime.

Room Tip: All the rooms we stayed in were good. We all commented on what a comfortable bed we had and the '...

Six of us went Barnham Broom for the second time for a reunion, this year we went on a golf break which included free golf for the men and 30 minute choice of treatments in the Spa.

We found the hotel clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Although the staff in Flints were mainly students, they proved to be extremely efficient and charming.

The design of the hotel is rarther strange but the staff make up for that and the food in Flints was absolutly marvellous. Beautifully served and plenty to eat and the breakfast likewise, the best buffet breakfast I have had in England for a while, lots of fruit and large fry up.

The swimming pool was good everything supplied for convenience, shampoo, driers for hair and bathing costumes. We were all pleased with our spa treatments, nails and massage, the young lady was excellent. The men were happy with their golf which made an excellent few days away very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask if there are rooms you can choose that you do not have to walk outside to reach.

Myself & 7 colleagues from work had an overnight stay which included 2 rounds of Golf, 3 course evening meal & Bed & Breakfast all for £69. We played the valley course first. This in our opinion was not as good as the Hill course. I think that the greenkeepers do a fantastic job, but they do need a leaf blowing machine as a lot of balls could not be found on the fairway. The room was small but very clean & comfortable. The meal was superb quality but im afraid it didnt really fill us up. The bar had a good selection of drinks but was expensive. average Beer/ Lager was £3.60 a pint. Spirits were £4.00 a shot. On the plus side Breakfast was superb, the staff are some of the friendliest that we have met. Im sure that we will go there again in the near future as the price was very good.

Stayed at this hotel for one night in Nov. 2011 (Thursday). The common areas are not very welcoming and need a good makeover. The corridor and stairs to our room, No. 65, were dark , tired and narrow with poor decor and lighting.
The room was just adequate for a 2 star hotel not a 4 star with a ripped chair and some stains on the outer bedding. The bathroom had a crack next to the door and the shower head cover was missing.
Tried to get a drink at the bar but there was only one staff on duty and there was a golf club group taking all his time ,gave up after ten minutes. The food was good.

Stopped here with friends for a golf weekend and the golfing facilities are excellent. Rooms are a bit tired looking and could do with being updated. My issues were with the service , the length of time it took between courses for our evening meal was about 90 minutes and at no stage did anyone come and ask about drinks which meant that we never had a drink for over 2 hours!
The service was no better during breakfast as there was also a wedding on and it was clearly very busy, however the hotel would have had plenty of notice of how many people there would be but instead some people were told they wouldn't get served.
Sort out the service and update the rooms and you will get so many more customers and make more money!

Room Tip: Make sure there is a fan in your room.

We stayed for one night only at this hotel. We had a family room which was large and had a double and two proper single beds. The overal stay was excellent, the hotel has excellent facilities - pool, tennis courts, spa, restaurant, sports bar, golf. Great for a family get together or group. Friends also staying there commented on small food portions in the restaurant but we didn't eat there so can't comment on that ourselves. I would recommend highly and hope to return.
