“FABULOUS TIME!!”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

Some artist friends and I stayed at this super hotel and it was hard to find fault!! The staff were very obliging and polite, the rooms were spacious, well decorated and clean and the meals were superb with excellnt service. We had one day where we "lazed/painted" in the beautiful garen and took advantage of the sunshine, it was heavenly. It's well situated for many atractions. I do hope that we will be able to stay here again in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms over looking the garden/pool were brighter than the road side ones. Some rooms have bath only...

My daughter and husband booked The Old Rectory Crostwick Nr Norwich for their wedding. It is a lovely old building with gardens that are nicely laid out, ideal for wedding pics, there is also an outside pool, heated I'm told which would be a bonus to anyone on holiday. They had approx 100 guests sitting down to a very tasty, plentiful meal in the main hexagonal (?) shaped room that was beautifully decorated and had lots of windows letting in light, with views to the garden. The same main room was big enough with a dance floor for guests to enjoy during the evening.
Some of the guests, coming a long distance who stayed overnight, spoke very highly about attractive, comfortable, clean well supplied rooms. I have heard so many positive comments about the staff who were hard working, very helpful and friendly, a great team. Thank you all for making a special day great!

My sister and I took my parents to this hotel this weekend. The member of staff who greeted us was extremely helpful and charming; the rooms were very clean and well equipped. We all chose a meal from the table d'hote menu which, for £17.50 each was unbelievably good value and, again, the service was extremely good. We had a very quiet night's sleep and had a very good and relaxing breakfast in the morning. The icing on the cake was that my parents dogs were allowed in the hotel and stayed in the room overnight which was a huge bonus. The hotel represented extremely good value for money but, apart from that, was charming, relaxing and lovely.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor facing the garden/pool area (not sure there was another floor above); bu...

We enjoyed a lovely stay at The Old Rectory Hotel. We found our room clean and spacious, the food excellent and the staff were very friendly. The hotel is in an ideal situation for a lovely holiday and we visited some lovely places. It was nice to return to the hotel and relax in the lovely gardens. We took advantage of the restaurant for our evening meals and we were never disappointed.

Excellent location to Norwich and the coast. Lovely room in the annexe. Wonderful friendly staff, especially 'Dad'. The heated outdoor pool was a bonus after a day wandering around various places. You can even share the 'whiley' for your wet swimming gear and towel, I really cannot fault this hotel at all. However, being the picky, grumpy old g.. that I am, the music in the dining room drove me to the pub down the road...... that was a shame as I could mark this place 10/10.
Excellent value for money and I will visit again. Thank you

Room Tip: I think the main hotel may cater for 'ankle biters', so a room in the annexe is ideal.

Whilst our daughter and family were toughing it out on a campsite 40 minutes away, my wife and I opted for the comfort of a queen-size bed at the Old Rectory. The three nights we enjoyed at this hotel could not have been better, starting with a friendly welcome through to the excellent dining. The young team of staff were always attentive and anxious to please - which they certainly did. We took advantage, each evening, of the table d'hote menu ...good value at the full published price but exceptional value at the discounted rate offered to residents. No liberties were taken with wine prices, either.....£16 or £17 provided liquid refreshment of a high order !
Comfortable rooms, a most pleasant lawned garden with outside seating, a fun-size heated outdoor pool ( great for kids ) and masses of parking space all combine to make this a most acceptable stop-over.

Room Tip: All rooms on ground floor - mobility issues do not arise.

I chose the Old Rectory Hotel after reading the excellent ratings it had received from previous reviewers, and was not disappointed. The room was large and comfortable, on the ground floor overlooking the garden.

The bathroom, was a little small, but had all the necessary amenities. The shampoo/conditioner came in little sachets, as did the bath/shower gel, however I found this most annoying as they were almost impossible to open when wet and slippery in the shower! Why do they make these items so difficult to handle?

The location of the hotel was perfect, a little way out of Norwich.

The room was scrupulously clean, and demonstrated the high standards maintained by the housekeeping department, who are a real credit to the hotel management.

Having to work late, I did not have the opportunity of sampling the dinner menu, but the breakfast the next morning was excellent; a good choice of cereals and fruit juices followed by a full English breakfast, more than enough to set you up for the drive home.

The bed and breakfast rate charged represents excellent value for money. I will be back and next time with my spouse to make this a real holiday destination, in the Broadland area.
