This hotel was awesome, gives you a true African safari experience from the hotel. From the nice pool area you can see all kinds of wildlife go by the electric fence, we saw lots of Zebras, Elephants, Wildebeest and more. Hotel rooms were very nice, the grounds were well maintained, buffet had lots of options. Great hotel in general, had no problems here. Location is one of the best in the world.

We recently stayed two nights here with friends who live in Kenya. They had previously stayed here and recommended that we go back there with them. You really can't beat it for the price. The lodge definitely gives you the African safari experience. We were given a mountain view room, and were able to see Kilimanjaro when not clouded over (we were there during the low season at the end of one of the rainy seasons). The room was clean and came with a room steward who drew the mosquito netting around the bed each evening among the usual room cleaning duties. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The food was very good. I particularly enjoyed sitting at the bar for drinks before dinner started. There are monkeys and baboons about, so be careful not to carry food in the open. The lodge does employ staff whose particular job it is to keep the monkeys away from the food. :) This place is also very family friendly and extremely tolerant of small children. They will even chase small children for you so you can eat. The lodge is in a great location for going on game drives. Finally, the have a small gift shop where you can buy traditional African souvenirs for a good price. We would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of our Kuoni Leopard Safari in March 2014.

We had stayed here in 2005 and the renovated rooms were much nicer than I remembered them being! We had a view over many herds of elephants and other wildlife that happened to wander by.

The room had 4 power points all UK type. No hairdryer.

We didn't have WiFi connectivity in our room, but you could connect for free in the main reception area.

On one of the nights the electricity went off between 1 am and 5 am but it stayed on all night on the second night.

If you love elephants, this surely is the national park for you, they were everywhere! We also saw a lioness, bat-eared foxes, hyenas and a serval ... to name just a few of the highlights.

Room Tip: Mt Kilimanjaro doesn't show itself too often so opt for the elephant view instead!

The Ol Tukai Lodge was the hotel in Amboseli included as part of my safari package. Brilliant hotel! Nice and relaxing! Quiet! Fantastic rooms! Good food and good atmosphere.

But best of all............it is in the centre of the Amboseli Game Park. Drive out the gate and you are immediately on Safari. Highly recommended! Just wished I had stayed longer.

Ol Tukai Lodge is located inside Amboseli National Park which makes game drives just moments away (in addition to what you can view from your room).

Room (#31) was located in the remodeled Elephant Wing with a view of the savannah (and yes, elephants). Rooms on the other wing face Mt Kilimanjaro. I absolutely loved this location which is why I chose to return again after being here in 2010. Rooms are a good size with comfortable (but harder) beds with mosquito netting, colorful decor, plenty of charging outlets, great shower, desk and sitting area. Make sure to close and lock your windows when out of the room or the resident monkeys will be visiting.

The food was well prepared and offered quite a few selections. I must admit, I’m a dessert fan and the “chocolate fudge” was the best dessert of the trip – a dark chocolate hardened with almonds. The peanut butter bars were also especially good. Breakfast and lunch were buffets and dinner offered buffet salads and desserts but the menu selections were served.

The staff are very helpful. After getting a number of tse tse fly bites, we wanted to check and see if there was something better we could use to relieve the itching. A person at the in-house medical clinic was tracked down and we purchased some cream which worked better than what we had carried with us.

The grounds are lovely to walk around, affording opportunities to take lots of photos. I loved the fact that this place is so shaded that you can walk about and stay cool.

Room Tip: I love the Elephant Wing for watching wildlife

After a mix up at another facility in the park, we were sent to the Ol Tukai. I must admit I was a bit miffed as we drove up.
However, as we walked the boardwalk entry to the hotel through a lovely garden area my mood began to lift. As we turnd the corner of the walkway and entered the lobby, it was gorgeous.
Walk through the lobby and on a clear day you can reach out and touch Killmanjaro!
The staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The General Manager, Joab Oruko, was very helpful as we made the transition of the reservations from the first hotel.
The rooms, duplex style cabins, were simply beatuiful and very clean.
The food was also excellent. Great coffee, too!
This is one of the finest hotel experiences I have had anywhere in the world.
I can't can't believe our good fortune to have been turned away at the another hotel and been repositioned here. It would be hard to imagine the other one having a better or even as good an experience.
Can't wait to take my wife!
Ps. Charge camera batteries, etc early as the power is turned off at midnight and comes on again around 6 AM. Or charge them in your vehicle.
