This is a lovely resort. All rooms are little private cabins set in a beautiful tropical garden. It's very well maintained and clean. The rooms are large, bathrooms have both an indoor and outdoor shower. You have your own private veranda complete with table, chairs and a chaise lounger which looks out to the ocean. I believe even the garden view cabins also look out to the ocean only a bit further back. We stayed in #101 which was right next to the spa and away from the restaurant and main lobby. Very peaceful; in fact, the entire resort was quiet. I understand November is their low season and there were probably only 6 other rooms in use. The infinity swimming pool was large and made for swimming as most of it was deep. Fantastic to be in the pool overlooking the ocean. Lots of chairs with umbrellas. Breakfast was great, but the evening meals were a bit disappointing (meat tough, things not really hot). It was a very large dining room and mostly empty; I think most of us ate elsewhere. Sunsets were beautiful even when there was a bit of cloud. The staff were all very friendly and most spoke pretty good English. Service was great and nothing was too much trouble (a common thread we found throughout Bali). We enjoyed our stay at this resort very much. The temperature was warmer than in the south but not as muggy. There was no rain in the 4 days we were there. I would recommend everyone visit the northern coast of Bali as it is different form the south ...less hurried and fewer tourists.
Our only negative comment is the internet is abysmal!! We constantly had to re-log in as the connections would be dropped constantly. We were unable to send pictures from this location. In this day and age when everyone wants to be "connected" this service is unacceptable.

Room tip: I don't think there is a bad room in the entire resort

I chose Bali to enjoy a yoga retreat over the Xmas / NYE holidays because I knew Bali would just simply be awesome. I found Puri Bagus Lovina through bookretreat.com and so glad that I went there. There's a beautiful yoga shala/ room with fantastic views of the beach and gardens where you have two daily yoga classes. Ayu was a great yoga teacher and is an excellent massaeur also !

Ayu (another lovely lady) the sales and marketing manager made a program for my stay to take in the wonderful Bali sites. She included some lovely traditional ceromonies which I wasn't expecting and for me and the other yogies very special. I won't spoil the surprise as you'll have to go and find out for yourself.

The staff are super lovely and do their best for you.
The restaurant manager was always making sure every meal was enjoyable. The chef made my Balinese cooking class fun - the food was awesome !

If you're looking for a peaceful, serene yet active and nourishing soul trip then I'd definitely recommend this place. It's a 2.5 hrs drive from the airport, but it's worth it for the beautiful sunsets. This was the first time I'd been to the north of Bali, which is quieter than the more popular south, and glad that I came here for the yoga retreat. I could have gone to Ubud but I wanted to be by the beach!

Definelty get the ocean view room, as I loved my terrace with the ocean view relaxing. I read loads! Loved the food. Loved the people. Love Bali. Xxx

First of all, this is such a beautiful resort. Except the bedbugs.
This is Bali. I expect to share my room and bed with Gecko lizards and the other
creatures from the nature. But the bedbugs are totally different story and they should not be there. They are due to the poor management.
I reported the bedbugs busy running all over my bed and bite me quite badly at 10 PM to the front desk. Then I was relocated to the alternative room the next door. But the same situation there once again. The late night room hoping began. Finally, the staff brought the cockroach insecticide and sprayed all over our beds where my 7 year old daughter and I would sleep. No way. That long night was my last night there. This resort could have been an almost paradise. Just too bad.

OK but I wouldnt write home about the place. I went for a yoga retreat and ,,,, well... underwhleming really. The room were clearly something when they were first build but are looking tired now. The staff were freindly, but in that fake 'i'll get in to trouble if I am not nice' sort of a way. Try to meet some locals while there, they are great!!

Spent 3 nights. Hotel itself is little bit dated, and around it is nothing, just sea and fields. Anyway the territory is like in paradise and the pool is awesome! Food in restaurant is a bit pricey but tasty. Spent there honeymoon , a pity didnt get any greetings...
