Small hotel run by a family, with very clean linens and towels. The breakfast was yummy (fruits and vegetables were fresh). Almost all the attractions were within walking distance. The staff is very courteous and helpful (the front desk gentleman even drove us to a site that we couldn´t find in a map or GPS). The free parking in the back is a plus.

You cannot beat the home made marmelades at breakfast!

This B&B hotel is run by a family, all members are on board daily.

You want it, they get it for you, at all times.

Just wonderful, old fashioned services, making you welcome any time.

The property is 3 star, but this does not reflect from the wonderful personal services rendered.

Highly recommended for your stay ,

This small B&B hotel is family owned.

All members work there daily.

Their efforts and attention to assist and help are truly exceptional !

I wish larger corporate hotels could learn from them, true personal services, although this is just a two to three star hotel.

Clean rooms, good beds, located in the old antique city of Amasya, Turkey.

I would definitely return any time !!!

This hotel is well located in the old part of town and easy walking distance to most attractions. However, that is just about where its strengths end. The lobby and restaurant are dark and totally uninviting. The rooms are basic. I don't know if this applies to the whole of Amsaya but the water had a really strong and unpleasant sulfurous smell. Our bed was uncomfortable and there was a lot of noise from the little street at night and I would not recommend a street side room.

There is good parking at the rear of the hotel.

This is a terrific little town to visit, but I would try somewhere else if I was to visit again. It is definitely worth staying in or very near the old part of town but there just must be somewhere better than this worn out, uninviting hotel.

Room Tip: Avoid a room on the street, way too noisy

The Simre Hotel is located in the very oldest section of town, one block back from the river. It is easy to find and has a very nice parking area, which helps things considerably! The hotel itself is in an old renovated building, complete with elevator. Breakfasts were excellent, with many choices as well as homemade pastries and jams. The rooms are well appointed, and we had reserved a suite which gave us a second television (which we actually couldn’t get to work properly), a sofa bed and balcony. (We loved the balcony!) The bathroom had a huge self-contained ultra-modern, high-tech shower compartment (with remote control!), which we also couldn’t get to work properly. We managed to turn on the lights and the music, but as far as getting anything special to come out of the jets, no luck. Finally, the sink operated on the principal of waving your hands under the faucet in order to get water. This resulted in a lot of hand waving, but more importantly, if you just walked by the sink, the water would go on! Very disconcerting and unnecessary to say the least. We had also asked them to do some laundry, and when it was eventually returned, we discovered that it was somebody else’s! We returned it, and ours showed up a few minutes later (thank goodness!). Lastly, the hotel is unfortunately located right next to a restaurant that has live entertainment until midnight on the weekends. VERY loud music; obviously not the fault of the hotel, but something to consider. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Simre Hotel, but would have to think about returning there in the future.

Room Tip: We went for a suite, because of the balcony!

We came to the Simre on a road trip and planned to stay overnight. When we checked into our very comfortable suite, they charged for a double room, they sent up tea and home made shortbread cookies. My partner asked if it was ok to smoke on the balcony and they said yes. Five minutes later somebody knocked at our door with an ash tray. The room had two flat screen TV's, two rooms, one with a couch, a balcony with a great view and a jacuzzi. The staff was great and one of the best I've been to for value.

The Simre is located in the old part of town within walking distance of most of the major sights. Our room was comfortable, very clean and the bathroom had been recently refurbished with a very fancy shower unit. The breakfast was outstanding with a huge selection of food, including home made jams and pastries as well as the usual cheese, eggs, bread, olives, tomatoes etc. The owner was particularly friendly, helpful and keen to ensure that we had a good stay. However, we did arrive in the late afternoon of a very busy holiday weekend and had to take a room overlooking the street, which was rather noisy in the late evening.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, ask for one of the rooms at the back of the building.
