We stayed for 3 nights, and initially booked for dinner on our first night only. We quickly decided to eat here for the remainder of our stay. We slept well and woke to the sounds of birds and 'the Freds' could not have been better hosts. We will definately be returning to La Bageatiere.

What a beautiful place. The buildings and grounds were special. Lots of green grass and foliage of all kinds. The hosts were pleasant and helpful. The reviews of their dinners were great, but unfortunately we were there on a Monday evening when they take a night off from cooking. The breakfast was rather pedestrian. We expected much more from a chef who receives so many great reviews for his dinners.
Our room was quite nice, but the wifi wouldn't work there. We had to go to the lobby/dining area to get a signal. This was an inconvenience, but I very much disapproved of their wifi connection. You had to give a bunch of personal information to gain access, which I thought was inappropriate. The area around this B& B is absolutely beautiful. What a wonder region to drive through and sight see.

When you arrive at this bed and breakfast, and meet the Freds, you know you are in for a special time. We stayed in the Edelweiss bedroom for two nights, it was gorgeous with a lovely outlook towards the garden. Each evening we enjoyed fabulous french cuisine prepared by Mr Fred and had wonderful company around the big dinner table. It was excellent value and a must if you stay here. We would definitely love to come back here as we had such a nice time. Only hiccup for us was, compared to other places we stayed at in France, the WiFi access to the internet was not easy to connect to.

We stayed just one night while en route to Lyon, and were very impressed by the 5 star personal service. It was raining heavily when we arrived, and we couldn't believe it when the hosts came out to the car to meet us holding umbrellas ready! They hosted a lively dinner too, switching easily from English to French depending on the guests, and keeping the conversation flowing. The food was delicious, all locally sourced and home cooked. The house is set in a lovely big garden, and they have a pool too (although given the rain, we didn't get a chance to try it). I'm sure it'll be wonderful in full summer.

We stayed here for 7 nights. The Freds were very welcoming and friendly. They both spoke English. The room was clean and comfortable and the garden was a treat on a sunny day with great views and a rushing stream through the garden. The food was sumptuous and if you go make sure you do have at least one evening meal ..not just the breakfast. We would go back there again.

I sincerely hope my input will help others choose this lovely B and B. The accommodations were comfortable, very clean, and surprisingly quite quiet. The outside surroundings were beautiful. Yet, the most memorable and remarkable aspect of our stay with the "Freds" was the wonderfully delicious dinner Mr. Fred prepared. I still think of it with a smile! We had eaten in Paris and in a restaurant recommended by Rick Steves (L'Epicerie in Amboise) but those meals did nothing to make an impression on me. Mr. Fred's did. From the Kir to the dessert it was fantastic and I sing the praises of this B and B every time I tell of our trip to Europe. I must also mention the breakfasts as they were quite good too. I learned the type of breakfast served is typical of those eaten during special celebrations in France.

I stayed here for four nights. Wow! Both hosts were welcoming and friendly. The room was so clean you could eat off the floors. You never heard noise from the other rooms, and there were small children staying next to my room. I used Skype late at night and no one heard me either. The bed was comfortable. Each morning you were greeted with a wonderful breakfast. The hosts were helpful with your planning of events for the day, suggesting beautiful beaches and printing out train schedules. A bike was available for me to use each day as well. The setting is so relaxing you can not even imagine it! During the day, it was peaceful and you really could have some quiet time to yourself. The evening meal at the table was amazing each night. The four courses, including cheese plate, were amazingly prepared and served. The two Freds set up my massages, assisted with my communication (since I do not speak French), and were comforting, nice and helpful. They absolutely have done everything right! I would go back in a heartbeat.
